Eriwon Objective A fisherman finds a robe made out of the most beautiful white feathers he has ever seen. Determined to sell the precious thing for a high price, he brings it to the market where it is bought by a noble lady. Soon after, the Inderli mare encounters strange occurrences when she wears it and therefore sets out a reward to those who can tell her how to lift the magic that is obviously laid on the robe. A wise old mage told her that the curse is spoken by the bird itself who the feathers belong to and that the lady has to find such a bird to be able to wear the robe without encountering trouble. Now a group of locals, who are interested in the reward, has formed who are searching for the bird in the forest near the cliffs by the sea.

Since we are only two people, we can as well turn this into a two-person roleplay, I guess. If anyone wants to join in later on, they can just do so. At least that's my suggestion. I hope that's okay with you. c:
Izumi Kana | Noble Lady
She had expected more interest, especially when one considered the reward she set, but the group of interested people had quickly become discouraged by the lack of leads and therefore given up. Now only a sole interested individual remained. A good-looking stallion who had taken interest in her request. »I appreciate your help deeply.« Kana said as she stood at the door of her mansion and the stallion in front of it. »The reward will be all yours if you do happen to find the bird. I originally planned to split it up between a group who found it, but they have become scared of witnessing bad luck and therefore lost interest. Hopefully, you will be the one to solve the mystery.« All this waiting for groups to find the bid had made her restless and now with only one remaining to do so, she couldn’t bear to sit in her home any longer. »If you allow, I would like to accompany you.« She therefore said. Kana was aware that a female companion on a mission like this would more likely be a hindrance for the stallion, especially since she couldn’t contribute much herself, but her curiosity forbid her to take any other action.

Mercutio | Warrior
Mercutio tried very hard not to allow this mare to know his displeasure at her request. He had volunteered for this task mostly because it appeared as if no one else would. Even his team from the herd had advised him not to interfere. That it was none of their concern, and they were expected back in Derenta anyways with the status of their mission. But Mercutio had insisted, and his fellows had agreed to wait for him to finish before departing for their home. He had approached the home of the lady who had given the quest, and greeted her with all the respect due to a woman of her status. Though he wasn't in this for a reward, the idea of bringing a hefty purse back to the storage shed was satisfying. However, when she mentioned joining him on this quest, all he could think about was how much more complicated his life would be if she joined him. She likely had no usable skills to apply to this quest, and would therefore be just one more thing for him to worry about. But, looking into her eyes, he could see that it would do him little good to argue. The large stallion sighed, resigning himself to the fact that he would have to bring her along. "Very well, my lady. If it pleases you, I would be happy for your company." He was not an accomplished liar, but hopefully the lady thought him to be sincere.

Izumi Kana | Noble Lady
As expected, the stallion did not seem to be pleased with her suggestion, but at least he was polite enough not to show it or to deny her. Kana therefore smiled and bowed her head slightly as a sign of gratitude. As she was dressed in the robe made of the white feathers already, there was not much need for further preparations and she expected to be back at sundown at latest anyway. She closed the door behind them and locked it, putting the key into a purse she wore around her neck. "Shall we go then? And would you mind telling me your name? It would be lovely to know it." Kana said and fell into a light walk while granting the stallion the lead.

Mercutio | Warrior
"My name is Mercutio, Lady," the grey horse replied. He waited for her to lock her door, then turned toward the sea. There was a forest that bordered the cliffs overlooking the sea, and it was there that he suspected they would find their quarry. The warrior set out, finding a pace that was brisk, but hopefully not too fast for his companion to follow. As they walked, he lost himself to thought. Birds were difficult to track, especially for an earth mage who was very in tune with the ground, but not nearly to much with the air. It almost made him wish that he had an air mage with him, preferably a scout. There was a reason that warriors and scouts went on missions together. He himself had more brawn than brains, and if nothing else, the scouts tended to have the occasional good idea that wouldn't get them all killed. But, as he was alone in this, he would have to track this bird alone. Perhaps, if it's nest was in the trees, he could feel something through them. With only himself and a noble lady of Eriwon, he would have to use magic to at least narrow down where they should search.

As a side note, I have no idea where we're going. Just to warn you. I'm sure you have some sort of plan for this, so you might have to steer me a little bit.

I'm sorry that it took so long to reply. I waited for the other person who wanted to join this to post because after this post it would be hard for them to join, but they seem to have lost interest, so we have to continue without them. (good thing this objective doesn't have a deadline, I'm still sorry for the long wait!)
Izumi Kana | Noble Lady
Kana nodded with a smile. So his name was Mercutio. What an exotic name. As he started walking into the forest confidently, Kana followed him. The more she looked at the stallion, the more she was interested in his origins. He didn't look like someone from the village. "I have not seen you around before and I am certain I would remember such a unique name as yours. Say, have you wandered far to get here and do you consider staying? If you are not familiar with the lay of the land, then I can be of assistance. I grew up here and know the coastline very well. Where do you suggest we start searching?" The noble lady asked while watching her step so that she wouldn't accidently trip.

Mercutio | Warrior
Mercutio glanced at the noble lady walking beside him. She was more inquisitive than most residents of Eriwon. Usually he was the recipient of sidelong looks, but not direct questions. It was something he had grown used to. He was rather larger and more muscular than many other horses in the area, and his grey coloring was striking anyways. But direct questions were rarely asked, except by some cheeky individuals. Luckily for him, he had a cover story prepared, as he couldn't very well tell her his true affiliations. "I'm from Nordberg originally. I came here to do some business for my family. I was just finishing up that matter when I heard of your troubles. I'm not expected back at any particular time, so I decided to stay a day longer and assist you. And no, I do not know the coast very well. I would appreciate your guidance." Mercutio was relaxing a little, more comfortable with Kana's presence if she could be helpful. He looked at her cloak, or rather at the feathers, and said, "I believe that the feathers on your cloak come from a seabird. Those kinds don't tend to next in trees, but rather on rocks in the cliffs. We might start there."

The mare nodded in understanding. It was rare that she saw travellers from outside of Eriwon, so the stallion intrigued her. She made good effort to keep up with him, even when the terrain became rocky and went uphill to the cliffs. She did not want to embarrass herself in front of the one who had probably been through far worse than a travel up a cliffside. When they reached the top of the cliff, a few unnaturally shaped stones stood there. Kana recognised them as the guardians of this cliff and therefore a representation of the god that would bring mercy upon the people living here, to let the waves break on this cliff and not on their homes. On the centre rock of the five rocks was, as Mercutio had already suspected, a nest. In it were white feathers identical to those on the robe, but also two eggs that shone like opalescent moonstone. "How beautiful." The noble lady exclaimed upon seeing them, not noticing the white bird with the silver split tail circling high in the sky.

Mercutio | Warrior
The big stallion tried to slow his pace to accommodate the mare who was clearly less fit than he. Unsurprising, given her station and gender. He wouldn't leave her behind though. He quite enjoyed the climb up the cliffs. Despite his deep fear of water, he quite liked the sea. It was powerful, strong, and yet also peaceful. The air smelled of the ocean, salty and briny. He breathed deeply as they climbed. The exertion was pleasant too. He was never quite so happy as when he was exercising. He loved sparring especially, but hiking was a close second. When they reached the top of the cliffs, they came across five tall stones. They'd clearly been carved into some sort of shape, but Mercutio wasn't familiar enough with the local culture to know the intentions behind their creation and placement. What he did know was that the nest perched on the center rock was precisely what they were searching for. Or, more specifically, the bird circling above was. It had a split tail, and it's feathers matched the ones on the cloak. And she did not look pleased. Mercutio planted his feet in a defensive stance, prepared for any attack. "Keep your eyes on that bird. If it comes at us, get behind me."

Bird? What bird? The mare thought and only then let her gaze wander skywards. Yes, there it was. A bird white as snow with tail feathers and wing ends shining as silver as moonlight. She was for a moment frozen in place just by the sheer beauty of the creature. Only when the mother bird let out a shrill cry and swooped down on them, did the mare move again and in a swift motion jumped behind Mercutio for protection, like he had ordered. "Will you kill it?" She asked anxiously. Such a beautiful creature should not be soaked in blood, but be caught in a silver cage to also let others admire its beauty. It would probably sell for a pretty high prize on the market. And those eggs too. They looked like precious gemstones, but since they were eggs, they were much more valuable.

Mercutio | Warrior
The big grey stallion watched the bird swoop down upon them with focused eyes. He wished that he was alone so he could attempt to subdue the creature with magic. While it was not entirely unusual for magic users to live around here, he preferred to not show off his skills in front of outsiders. In his experience, it tended to raise too many questions. And besides, his particular brand of earth magic dealt better with plant life than with rocks, and there wasn't much green on the cliffs. Also, he might accidentally kill the poor creature with rocks. Instead, when the bird drew near, he lifted onto his hind legs and swatted at it with his large hooves. He meant only to discourage the creature, not harm it. "Not if I can help it," he replied to the lady hiding behind him. This bird was, after all, only trying to protect its nest. Mercutio considered how to resolve the situation, and briefly wondered if the bird could speak. It was more probable that it was a witless, but still he wondered. It took some level of intelligence to utter a curse, so perhaps... "You there!" he addressed the bird, feeling slightly ridiculous. "We mean no harm to you nor your eggs. We only seek the being to which these feathers belong, and ask that the magic placed upon them be lifted." He gestured to the cloak that was gently moving the the sea breeze. He hoped that he had not just made a fool of himself.
