Ellie sighed in relief when Evie called him Mick. That was the third year they were meeting. He seemed nice enough. He laughed off a kick from Lysa and seemed to have scared them on purpose. Suddenly he noticed her. He gave her a friendly smile
"Who's the new girl here" Ellie blushed and ducked her head.
"My name is Ellie, I met Evie on the way here, they asked if I wanted to come with." She was mumbling a little bit, and she knew it. She was no good at small talk anyway, cute stallions that showed her positive attention made it worse.

"Pleasure to meet ya'" Mick said to Ellie. Lysa stepped forward. "Mick, you said you wanted to show us something you found, what is it?! I have been waiting all day now!" she said inpatient
. "Don't worry, I did not forget" he said. Now Evie too was curious. She had heard them talk about somthing like this at the day, but she did not care much for it at the time. Now, however... "Why do you think we are at the eating area? I found something at the day, but it was too risky to check out then" he said, and started heading for food storage - the place where all the foor for the days to come were.

When Mick turned his attention to the others Ellie was not sure if she was more relieved or jealous. She didn't have to much time to think about it because they began to move. Ellie scrambled to follow them but hesitate when she saw where they were heading. Should she follow? She looked around. Well she wasn't about to leave, she didn't want to look scared. She followed them as far as storage.
"Hey I can stay here and keep watch. I will be after you guys if everything stays clear. Better safe than sorry right?"

They just arrived at the storage. "I can't wait to see what you found!" Lysa said. Evie looked at Ellie. She had seemed quiet for a while now. On the other hand, this was the first time Evie saw how Ellie was when other people were around. Maybe she was always like this? "Hey I can stay here and keep watch. I will be after you guys if everything stays clear. Better safe than sorry right?" Ellie said. This is the second time she tried to get away, Evie thought. "Really? What are you gonna do if someone comes, fight them?" Mick said with a grin.
"Ey', she is actually pretty good at fighting" Evie said. "You shoud have seen her earlier today".
"What happened?"
"She knocked someone out"
"No way! Who?"
"I dunno, some third year I guess"
"Impressive
!" Mick said, and he smiled at Ellie. "Guess we have nothing to be afraid of. See you then" and he walked indside the storage. Lysa followed him. "You comming?" she asked Evie. "I'll be right there" she said. Lysa did not ask further and she followed Mick indside the storage. It was a very small storage.
Evie turned around to stand next to Ellie. "You do know you are not ruining anything by being here". she said. "They'd like to get to know you too". She smiled at her.

Ellie ducked her head. She had such a hard time with new people. She still was not Completely alright with Evie. She sighed quietly.
"I know, I just have a hard time with new people. I don't know how to talk right so I freak people. I get scared and nervous and stay stupid things or fall on my face and embarrass myself. I do better when I am alone." Her head dropped lower. She had said more than she had meant to again. She forced a small smile. "You can go with the others and explore. I don't mind."

Evie hoped she could hoped
she could convince Ellie to join her back in, even though she doubted that it would work. "Can I ask you something?" Evie said. "If this how you feel around people. Then why did you say yes in the first place?" It did not sound mean, rude or anything like that. Evie was simply trying to be reasonable.

Ellie wouldn't look at Evie.
"I thought since I had managed to defend myself, something I didn't think I could do, maybe I could do this too. I guess not. It wasn't too bad with you, and Lysa didn't pay much attention to me so I was able to cope kinda. But with all three of you I..." She looked out where somebody could come from keeping watch. "That and I don't know what any of you plan on doing. I don't have enough information to keep going, and like I said before I don't want to ruin your fun. I know my idea of fun and how hard it is for me to break rules."

"Fair enough. Suit yourself," was all Evie had to say. Words like "I understand" did not suit her mouth very well. She turned around and walked over to the little door. She turned her head one last time: "Do not be shy to come in if you want to" she said, and she walked in.
Lysa and Mick was laughing of something when she came in, but Evie was not in the mood for asking what it was. "So, what was that super-secret-thing you found?" she asked. Almost proud of himself, Mick showed her a bottle. "A bottle?" she asked. Was that really it? "Oh, you do not understand, it's not just water in there". It took Evie a moment to figure out what it was then. "No, fucking, way!" she said. "What is in it then?!" Evie had drank alcohol before, sometimes her parrents took it home with them when they had been to cities. "We don't know, but we can taste there is alcohol in there" Lysa said.
"What do you mean?"
"It is not like we got a lot of it in the herd, we have nothing to compare it too, we don't know anything about it!"
"You have never tasted it before?"
"WAIT!" Lysa said. "You have?"
"Uhhh, yeah?"
"Liar"
"No I'm not!"
"What is it then?"
Evie walked staight over to the bottle and drank from it. There was no doubt. "Wine" she said. "It is definitely
wine".

When Evie had gone back Ellie could hear the muffled laughter. She sighed quietly. At least Evie had seemed to understand, sort of. She kept looking around. She had volunteered to keep watch so she was going to do her best. Maybe she would work up the nerve to join them.
It had been over half an hour when she saw something. A camp counselor heading this way.She waited a little bit to see if they were going to turn or go somewhere, but they didn't. They kept coming. She ducked into the cave whispering.
"There is somebody headed this way. We may need to hide." About that time she smelled the alcohol.

"What?!" Evie said in surprize. "Mick, I thougt you said this place was safe!"
"Relax, hun... nothin' gonna happen'" Mick said, swinging his head from side to side.
"Don't call me 'hun'!" she replied snappy.
"Maybe they want to drink too? It is their wine after all, OH HALL-" Lysa said, and started calling on the last part. "Shut up!" Evie said. She sighed over both of them. She turned her head to Ellie. "They are both drunk as shit"

Ellie had no idea what drunk was, but they sure were acting strange. She looked over her shoulder then back at Evie.
"It looked like just a routine walk around. If we can get these two to stay quiet and move out of sight of the door we should be fine." She looked at the drunk pair dubiously "I'm not sure how successful we will be. We can try, but if nothing else we hide and let them figure it out." She thought quick, before looking at Mick and Lysa. She got their attention before saying as excitedly as she could. "Hey I bet I can hide better than you guys!" She scrambled behind some containers and ducked down. "I bet I can be quieter too!"

"'ey guys we gotta hide!" and Evie jumped behind some boxes. "Whaaa?" they both said confused. Evie wanted to say something, but Ellie was fastere. "Hey I bet I can hide better than you guys!" she said. "I bet I can be quieter too!"
"Oh, game on!" Mick said, and he got up. So did Lysa, and they both hid. Smart, Evie thought.

Ellie grinned as she watched them clumsily hide. She used that trick all the time with younger foals. If you pretended to enjoy doing anything they often copied, even the most stubborn ones could not resist a challenge. She heard the door move and ducked lower.
The mare was none to pleased to be stuck on night duty. The whole point of the don't sneak out rule was to encourage them to sneak out. So why did she have to go looking for the ones that did? She checked around the deserted field where the ate their meals. It was a favorite place for those who snuck out. Nobody tonight though. She opened the food storage, no one here either. She snagged an apple and walked off to the next favorite spot. This would be a long night.
Ellie sighed in relief when the door closed. They had managed to not get caught. She climbed out of her hiding place.
"I think we are safe."

Evie jumped out of her hiding place when the camp worker walked out. "I think we are safe", Ellie said.
"Yeah, I think so too." Evie said. "Heard that, idiots
?" she asked out in the room.
"E-ey, don' call me 'idiot'" Mick said.
"Don't call me 'hun' " Evie said . She turned around to Ellie. "Look's like we needed somebody to look out after all". She tried to smile, but it only showed on her face for a moment. Her breath of alcohol gave after.

Ellie smiled back and looked at Mick and Lysa clumsily climbing out of hiding. She shook her head. If they stayed out any longer they would simply be babysitting the drunk pair. Ellie was not sure if she wanted to do that. She thought out loud.
"Well as far as I can tell we have four options. One hang out with them the rest of the night and basically babysit them. Two take them back and drop them off, while we stay out later. Three call it a night and all of us go to sleep. Or four dich them and do something else. Dropping them off might be risky as we could get caught, and leaving them could be bad because if they get caught they could give us up in the state they are in." She Looked back at Evie. "If you want to stay out alone I could take them back. What do you want to do?" Ellie personally wanted to go to bed but with the extra campers out of commission she might be able to do something with Evie.
