Evie | Scout apprentice
Evie was happy when she got her food. Never had she ever wanted anything as much at this. She could barely wait to find a place to sit, before she started eating. She walked with Samantha, and found a place to eat close to Ellie and Eric. Evie ate like an animal, she forgot almost everything about manners, until Samantha friendly reminded her about them. “I’m taking Ellie to explore, care to join us?” Eric said, looking at Samantha and Evie. Samantha was going to say something, but was too slow. "Hell yeah!" Evie said, and got up, sic´nce she was already done eating. Samantha smiled. "I guess we are then!" Eric and Ellie got up and started walking. Samantha lowered her head and whispered to Evie "What a hottie" she said. Evie looked surprised at her, and whispered back. "Who, that guy-Eric?". Samantha nooded at her. Evie smiled. She was always looking for boys, how could she be surprised ? Evie walked up front nect to Ellie and Eric. "So, where are we going?"

Ellie | Scout Apprentice
Ellie looked over at Evie glad they had joined. "Eric was going to show me where every thing is around here. Sleeping quarters, training areas and stuff like that. I like to know were stuff is. Eric says it's a good thing I'm a scout because I'm the most nosy youngling he has ever met." Ellie giggled. "Its because I'm the only youngling he knows." She Looked around as they walked. The sleeping areas were special grown trees that had long straight trunks with thick branches that looked like they could keep out rain but were open enough to make any air mage happy. There were two groups of trees obviously one was for colts and the other for the fillies. The training areas were all flat and boring. Ellie looked around trying to see anything interesting. Then she saw the drop off. She ran to the edge without fear and smiled as an up draft blew her mane back. Now this was cool.

Evie | Scout apprentice
Everything they had seen was pretty much self explanatory. The sleeping area was divided in genders, close to the eating area and the training area was just flat meadow so there were nothing in the way when people had to do something fast. Evie could not wait to try tomorow. The whole magic thing was still pretty new for her, but she already loved it. Suddenly, Ellie ran of. Evie got curious and followed her. "Hey, what'cha found?!" she said while in speed. Ellie stopped up, and looked down. Evie realized there was a edge of some sort and she had to slow down. If she had stopped up just a little after, she would have had too much speed and falled of the cliff. Luckily, she stoped just in time to stand next to Ellie and looked down. The wind moved up at them, and both their manes flew upwards. "Coooooool!" was all she could say. "Hey girls! Was I the only one that heard something about to stay away from the cliffs when there was no tutor nearby?" Evie turned around only to see Samantha come running towards them. Evie looked annoyed at her. "Whatever".

Ellie|Scout Apprentice
Ellie ducked her head and blushed slightly. She had forgotten that rule, but she knew they would be right behind her. She looked over at Eric who was still walking. Sheesh that stallion didn’t run for anything.
“Sorry Eric.” She mumbled. Eric rumpled her forelock affectionately once he made it over to them.
“Just watch it for next time El.” He leaned out over the cliff side with a smile. “This was one of my favorite place when I was here.” Ellie joined him. She could see why he liked this place. Eric smiled and nudged Ellie. “Come on I’ve got one more thing to show you.” He headed back toward the rocks, on the other side of the camp. He followed the small cliff until he reached a decent sized crack, he looked around and squeezed through it. Ellie followed him closely, curious. The crack was small, but opened up into a trail that wound around behind to the other side of the cliff. There was a second drop off, smaller than the one used for training, but still pretty big. A few scraggly trees clung to life in the thin soil of the small field. A dozen or so equines could fit back here comfortably but any more would be crowded. Ellie looked around in awe. Eric grinned at her. “This is the ‘top secret hiding spot’ for campers trying to get away from training or trying to have a little *ahem* alone time. My only request is you let me know if you plan on coming out here, and why. I know you don’t like crowds, and might need to have some alone time. So if you let me know that’s what you are up to I’ll give you some time. If you don’t I’ll come find you deal?” Ellie trotted over to him and hugged him tight.
“Deal!” She loved that he understood her where many others, even her own parents sometimes didn’t. She knew her parents loved her but they both loved crowds and noise. Things Ellie just couldn’t handle. She went carefully to the edge and looked around. It was pretty out here. Eric had said other people knew this was here, so it wasn’t her place, but it was nice just the same.

Evie | Scout apprentice
Evie really liked the place. She loved to stretch her neck out, close her eyes and imagine she would fly. She really badly wanted to know how to fly, she did not have wings, but she have heards air mages could make their own wings somehow. She wanted to learn how to do that. “This was one of my favorite place when I was here.” Eric said, and Evie could see why. Ellie and Eric then went of. “Come on I’ve got one more thing to show you.” he had said. Evie wanted to know what it was, but she felt like it was more a thing between them, so she did not follow. "So, you are not gonna sneak out tonoght, are you?" Samantha asked Evie. "What do you mean?" Evie asked back. She wanted to, nothing was more fun that exploring all this place in the dark, when no one else was here. Samantha started explaining: "You remember that you are not suposed to run of when it is dark, and stay in the sleeping area, right? It is meant as a test somehow, to see if you are sneaky enough to do it, without getting caught, it is especially meant for the scouts" Evie smiled, she was up for the challenge. ButSamantha could already read the thoughts. "You should wait until your third year though, your chances are really low now." Evie felt insulted . "Do you not think I can do it, without getting caught?!" she said. She did smiled. "You are forgetting who you are talking too. I am the master of getting in and out of trouble!"

Ellie|Scout Apprentice
Eric and Ellie made their way back to the dining area about dinner time. Everyone had eaten well when they first got there, so the camp leaders were passing out cold meat, and raw fruit and vegetables for anyone who was hungry. Ellie wasn’t really hungry. Eric often teased her for her small appetite, while she poked fun at his. He would eat anything. Ellie did take an apple though. She was watching some birds overhead and bumped into someone.
“Oops I’m sorry.” She murmured. She was nearly too embarrassed to look at the other trainee, but she made herself. The moment she saw who it was she wished she hadn’t looked. It was the colt that had been staring at her.
“Watch where you’re going idiot!” He shoved her back, making her trip over her own feet. She landed on her tail and dropped her apple. She went to pick it up, but he stepped on it. “You are the weirdo that was staring at me earlier. Whats you’re problem anyway?” Ellie carefully got up. She hated to fight. She shook her mane.
“I didn’t mean to stare earlier, I’m sorry.” The colt was not appeased.
“I asked you what your problem is?”
“Right now, the only problem I see is you!” Eric had lost track of Ellie when he had stopped to grab some food. When he caught sight of her again there was a small crowd gathered around her and a colt. The colt looked like a second or third year and was nearly two hands taller than Ellie. He was pushing her around, and none of the other apprentices had stepped in yet, none of the tutors either. Eric could cut a few some slack, they either had not noticed or could not see what was going on. Others he would chew out later. He made sure Ellie was alright and turned back to the colt. “Try picking on someone your own size, unless you are a coward.” He looked at those just standing there watching. “And how about helping next time? Surely all of you spectators could have taken that bully on? Come on Ellie let’s see about a sleeping space.”
Ellie was thoroughly embarrassed. She’d had no idea what to do, and Eric had needed to rescue her. She pressed her shoulder against Eric’s hip, something he said she should do if she needed to touch but others were around. Eric lead her away from most of the people. He turned so he could look Ellie in the eyes.
“Ellie, you have to stand up for yourself. I won’t always be around to stop bullies. You can do this, I know you can. I taught you what I did because I thought something like this could happen.” He gave her a quick hug “I believe in you. Let me go get you a new apple while you find a spot to lay down.” Ellie laid down with a huff. She didn’t want to fight anyone but if that colt didn’t let her be she might have to.

Evie | Scout apprentice
Evie and Samantha spent rest of the day talking abd simply having fun, Evie even got to hear the names of a few other kids. Most of them more "normal" then Ellie, but Evie liked her weird and shy personality. When it came to dinner time, she was also there fast. She was not usally a big eater, she was what was considered normal, but it was not much more than a few onths since her curse woke up, and her initiation phase was over by now, but she was still hungry for meat every now and then, and now was one of those "then". And again, she was happy and impressed by eating cooked meat. After both her and Samantha ate, Evie took some time alone, and it ended up being a long time. For a hour or two maybe. She just walked around and explored by her own. Since everyone was gone because they were eating, everything was so nice and quiet. She explored a lot at the area, and for a moment she thought about, if she had walked too long away from camp. But it was just for a moment, she did not care much. She walked around until the very last moment, when the sun was slowly going down, she decided to head back to camp. She did get some weird looks from the adults there, she was clear was a little late.
"EVIE!" she heard a very familiar voice said. She turned around to see Samantha walking towards her. "Where have you been?" she said, and not happy. "I don't know, everywhere I guess". She did not want any scolding now, just some peace and quiet, just like it had been for a few minutes ago. Samantha looked worried at her. "Is everything okay?" she asked. "Yeah yeah, everything is okay..." Samantha gave her a hug. "Go to the rest place now, okay?"
Evie looked around. Everyone was laying down. Some was sleeping, others were thinking and some was talking with each other. She was the group of people she had meat earlier - or at least the girl part of it - laying a place. They were talking with each other. But then she saw Ellie, being all by herself. Alone. She felt almost bad for her and she decided to join her.
On the way to Ellie, she heard to girls whisper something to each other: "- then he said something about that she had been stareing at him or something -". Evie could not help but to get curious for a small moment, but she then lost interest. Girls were good at spreading rumors, she knew that. Freaking girls. she thought for herself. She looked around for the last time, nd she was Eric, he was on his way out though. Had he just dropped Ellie of here? Evie took the few more steps, and she laid down next to Ellie. "Have you seen the view at the sunset up from these mountains? It is beautiful!" she said, happy. She then looked at Ellie. She looked slightly sad over something. "Hey, did something happen? Are you okay?"

Ellie managed a small smile when Evie came to lay near her, but she was still bothered by what happened earlier. Evie plopped down with a grin.
"Have you seen the view at the sunset up from these mountains? It is beautiful!" Evie was clever and it didn’t take her long to notice Ellie was not quite herself. "Hey, did something happen? Are you okay?" Ellie sighed.
“I bumped into some colt and he got mad.” Ellie shrugged. “I was looking around earlier and he caught me looking at him, and I guess he took it personally. He pushed me around a bit until Eric stepped in.” Ellie laid her head on the ground. “I didn’t fight back, I hate to fight even just arguments. That’s why I’m a scout, not a guard or warrior. I don’t want to fight with him, but if he won’t leave me alone I won’t have a choice.” She glanced over at Evie. The gray filly seemed like the kind that could stick up for herself. Ellie wished she were brave. “Why was he so mad at me? I apologized and everything.” Her voice was just above a whisper and as hard as she tried to stop it a tear left her eye and slid down her cheek. Why was she such a coward.
“That’s why you have me. I told you I’d take care of things if you’d let me.” She could hear Jynx whisper. Ellie closed her eyes tight. “Okay if he bothers us again you can handle him, but only if you promise to let me back when it is done.” Jynx chuckled “Okay, deal.” Ellie jerked herself back, her conversations with Jynx were quick but if she wasn’t careful she would miss anything Evie said.

Evie | Scout apprentice
Evie was quiet and listening while Ellie spoke about what happened. She must have been the one the girls were talking about, she thought. Ellie laid the head on the ground. It made her seem so vulnerable. Now she was not just talking about the guy, but about herself. She was talking aboyt what was wrong wih herself now. "No not blame yourself for what happened, it was not your fault that he is how he is". Ellie turned her eyes and looked at Evie. “Why was he so mad at me? I apologized and everything...” Evie felt bad for her. She was also angry. "People like him do not care about it. They know you are trying to get out of the situation, but they will not listen. They are always looking for a excuse to harass someone". She sighed. "Today, you were that someone. And that is not your fault". She was quiet a moment. The sun went down, and everyone (or almost, a few were not caspanas after all) turned to their night form, so did Ellie and Evie. Evie took time to look at Ellies night form, it was symmetric, but it was not the same color everywhere. Neither were her eyes, she had heterochromia. She knew the night form reflected the person wearing it, she wondered what it meant. She did not want to stare, and she insteed complimented it. "I like your night form". she said.

Ellie smiled at Evie’s kind words.
“Thanks” She whispered. She looked out toward the lowering sun. She had been dreading the sunset. As much as adults whispered about her markings, others her age could be much worse. She knew her looks were thanks to Jynx and Ellie’s dependence on her to cope. She also knew they would never change even if she did. She didn’t look at Evie until she heard her speak again.
"I like your night form" Ellie’s head shot up, she looked at Evie. Evie’s markings were all one color, but not quite even. Ellie smiled brightly, thrilled Evie hadn’t been bothered.
“Yours are lovely too. I like the butterflies. And the color, would you say that’s more aqua or turquoise?” She wasn’t sure what shade she would call hers other than blinding. If nothing else it made her easy to spot. Her colors were closer than some but not as close as she would have liked. If they were just a few shades closer it might have been less noticeable. Ellie wasn’t sure if they were friends or not, but Evie seemed to like her. At least she wasn’t scared of her. It was nice to finally have someone her age to talked to.

Evie | Scout apprentice
Evie smiled to Ellie, when she got complimented on her night form, since all the caspana thing was still a little new for her. "Thank you. Ya'know, I honestly get that question a lot. People can not seem to agree on what color it is. Heck, I do not even know what to call it!" She said. she then looked at her own markerings. Unlike Ellie, they seemed normal (*at this time her Markerings are symmetrical*). Evie also liked the small butterflies she had. She was proud. Not just of her night markerigs, but of being a caspana. She felt ready to die when she was already 5 years old. She wanted to. But neither her parrents or Djuro thought she was ready. She had made a lot of trouble as a kid, they so no one thought of her as ready. She did not change though, so not only did she have to wait one year, but two. She was slighly ashamed. How Ellie, who was a year younger, had been caspana more than herself. But n the other hand, she did not care much. She rarely cared about anything. She rollded over, so she could lie in a new position. She looked bored, and she laid on her back, looking upwards to the sky. "Water or fire?" she asked. "I mean, we will never be able to learn earth, so what would you learn first? Water or fire?"

Ellie thought for just a moment.
“Fire. I don’t mind just being wet but I don’t do cold and wet, and that seems to be my luck. If I’m wet I’m cold and wet.” She shivered just thinking about it. “I do like hot springs and maybe a cold pond on a summer day, but anything else not so much.” She stretched a bit, and flopped over. “How about you?” A little after Evie's reply Eric came back over. Ellie took one look and snorted with laughter. “I thought you were getting me an apple not clearing out the left overs." Eric was carrying enough food for three people.
“Well I did grab you an apple.” He tossed it to her. “Well hello Evie. If you would like something just say so. I have more than enough here.” Ellie caught the apple with a giggle.
“You always do. I never have to worry about missing a meal, cause you never miss a meal!” Ellie took a bite of her apple. She felt better now than she had since she had started her trip to camp. Ellie had Eric to look after her and Evie had been really nice Ellie was starting to trust her. Not enough to tell her about why she was two-toned, but it wouldn’t take long if thing kept going how they were.

"Definitely fire too! Can you imagine all the shit I could fuck up?! I want to know how to make explosions, that would be cool!" Just after that, Eric came over. He was carrying food, and a lot of it. “I thought you were getting me an apple not clearing out the left overs." Ellie said. Was that really all she wanted? An apple? That was a small dinner. “Well I did grab you an apple.” he said. “Well hello Evie. If you would like something just say so. I have more than enough here.” he looked at her, friendly. She rolled over and laid again normal "Oh hell yeah", she said, and took a little pice of salted dry meat. "Thanks" she said, with her mouth full of food and forgot everything about her manners. Again, she rolled over on her back so she could look a the stars. She could not really though, since the leaves were blocking it. She could barely see anything, but she still liked to try. I bet they are beautiful from up here, she thought.

Ellie was a little concerned when Evie talked about ‘fucking this up’ “Best not let Jynx out if she is around.” Ellie thought. She watched Evie. The grey filly was obviously very comfortable with herself. She was so confident that she did as she pleased, not at all concerned with what Ellie or Eric thought of her. Ellie smiled as Evie flopped over.
“Do you like stargazing too?” She looked up at the trees. They were blocking any chance of seeing the stars. Then Ellie got an idea. “Man, Evie must be rubbing off on me.” She thought as she shook her head. She looked at Evie. “Um we are close to the edge if we roll over there we can get our heads out from under the trees without technically leaving.” She said shyly. It might be fun to bend the rules just a little this once.

“Do you like stargazing too?” Ellie asked. Evie did not look at her when she answerd, she kept her eyes on the stars. "I love them", she just said. Evie knew there were all kinds of stories, zodiac and much more, but she did not care about the stars names or meanings, she simply enjoyednto look at them. To get lost in the big picture of sparkeling dots. “Um we are close to the edge if we roll over there we can get our heads out from under the trees without technically leaving.” Ellie said, shyly. Evie was suprized. Ellie want to break rules?! Well, I mean technically we would not if we did, but..." Evie rolled over and grined at her. "Now, you got my interest". She smiled at her. "Sounds like a great idea!"
