Ellie|Scout
Ellie had been about to continue conversation with the others when a call came from up ahead. They had found the chicken carcass. Ellie used her spells to check the area for any living things, and was the last one to reach the carcass. "Does anyone know who could have done this?" Jeweline asked to Ellie's surprise it was Miraphy who answered. "An animal. A person wouldn't have gnawed on the bones like that. I don't know which animal though. It looks like solely sharp teeth, but the jaw must be as small as the one of a marten. It wasn't a marten though, the prints on the ground more look like bird claws than paws." Miraphy suddenly noticed that she had everyone's full attention and barely managed to whisper out "I-I don't know what it was. Sorry." Cornelia spoke up next. "Funny how everything that have been killed is birds. Two hens before, a turkey and now another chicken. Wait, Miraphy. Did you not say that you heard something before? a ''cry of an animal'' or something. It might be just be a coincidence, but could it maybe be related...?" Ellie looked closer at the bones. "I completely agree with you Miraphy. And you Cornelia it is very likely the same creature." She spotted something smooth and round just under the brush. It could be a rock but something struck her as odd about it. Ellie moved forward and looked under the bushes, there were a few more of those black things. She picked one up to examine it closer. It was a scale. Wait, small meat eater, smaller than a marten, with bird feet and scales, could it be? No, it couldn't be, Noveins were incredibly rare and far more stealthy than this creature, though with as small as the prints were it could be a young one. Not much was really known these creatures so she couldn't even make a decent guess. "Best keep it to myself for now, until I find out more." She looked around at the others thinking quickly before she gave an answer. "The bite marks could have come from a young marten after being dropped by some bird of prey. It is hard to tell. I say we best keep looking to be sure its not something more sinister." Dawn might guess that she was not telling the whole truth, but she could explain it to her and Jeweline later. She carefully slipped the scales into her packs, hopefully she could use them for a tracking spell later when she was not being watched. She almost hoped it was a Novein, it would be fabulous to be able to gather some more information about them. "I would suggest we spread out some. Maybe three small groups that keep in sight of each other, we are more likely to spot something." Ellie thought fast. "Dawn is the leader and needs to be able to see everyone, Miraphy is pretty observant and Illucid seems okay with both of them, so thats a group. Jeweline needs to be away from Calypso before they start fighting with more than words, Cornelia and Serket should be okay with her. That just leaves..." Ellie sighed, she did not relish her plan but it should work "Illucid, Miraphy and Dawn should be the center group. Jeweline, Cornelia, and Serket could take the the right side and if Calypso would be so kind as to join me on the left. If you agree Dawn?" She sent out a message to Dawn as she spoke. "I'm none too thrilled, but it should work for now. At least Jeweline won't chop her into little pieces." She waited for her leaders okay.

Calypso | Unseelie
"Wow, I even get a nickname? How nice of you." Calypso responded with a grin, as Jeweline called her trash. She didn't really cared about the insult - she was more thrilled than angry, because she had the attention she wanted. As it looked like, just the palomino mare had enough guts to insult her, what made her even more interesting for the unseelie. It seemed that the others were just too scared or just didn't knew how dangerous the knabstrupper mare could get. But at least there was one, who had an eye on Calypso. "Well, it's not like I am here because of the mortals." Calypso answered without even looking at Jeweline, enough quiet, that only she could hear her. "I'm more interested in the power of the great fae warriors." the half demon telling the truth without even hesitating, as she looked with a smile at the palomino mare next to her. She didn't wanted to miss the mares priceless reaction. "But don't worry, I'm more an observer than troublemaker. Who knows, maybe I can be even helpful this time." Calypso smiled and it was hard to tell if she was telling the truth or not.
As Jeweline found rests of a chicken, the whole group stopped. Calypso took a quick look at the bones, before she looked away. Not because she couldn't look at something as disgusting as this, but just because she wasn't really interested what they found. If she had the interest to actually help them, she would probably take a closer look, but that wasn't the case at all. Also it was waste of her time, since everything has already been said. Calypso let the others do the analysis of the boring chicken bones, as she watched the beautiful butterflies, that were flying from one flower to another. The group just got her attention back, when Ellie suggested split in smaller groups. What an interesting idea. she thought. "..and if Calypso would be so kind as to join me on the left. If you agree Dawn?" the small painted mare said. Calypso was quite surprised of the formed groups, at least Ellie should know that she was an unseelie. Did the scout really think that she was strong enough to handle the half demon alone, or were the groups just badly thought out? However it was, Calypso didn't really anything against her decision. "I would be happy to join you." the knabstrupper mare said with a questionable smile. At the same time she looked to Jeweline, to see if the mare would step in and take action.

Illucid
[ stallion | independent | criminal ]
- - - - - - - - - - - - - As the group came to an abrupt halt, the young stallion almost ran into the horse in front of him. Illucid hadn't been paying much attention to where he was going, but he was glad he'd saved himself the embarrassment of crashing into one of the others. He wasn't quite sure what had caused them to stop, but suddenly he was excited. Neck reaching up, straining to look around everyone and see what was going on, Illucid could only catch sight of a few bones scattered on the ground. That seemed promising, he figured. It meant they were at least on the right track. When they were asked what they thought it was, he was at a loss for words. Illucid had little to no experience with chickens or other birds in general. Whenever he went into the city, he stole food items only. Never would he think about taking someone else's animal, though why he crossed the line there, he wasn't sure. Perhaps because he could barely care for himself, let alone a pet.
Almost as soon as they had stopped, Miraphy had come up with an explanation. Illucid thought it seemed pretty reasonable, and he had to agree, even if he couldn't see the bones as clearly as she. He watched silently as the small mare whose name he still didn't know (he would definitely have to ask at some point in time to avoid any awkward situations later) walk past everyone and over to the road block. She seemed like a sweet mare, telling Miraphy that she had no reason to be sorry. Why would she be sorry for being educated? It was more than Illucid could have ever figured out. Then again, Illucid didn't use his brain that way. While he was clever and could have pieced it together had he wanted to, he was more interested in bounding down the way, looking for his next big thrill. Regardless, the buckskin took a liking to the little mare. Unlike some of the others, she appeared to have a.. more calm and generally friendly demeanor. He was beginning to feel a wee bit more comfortable in the group of mares, though others like the palomino and Calypso still rubbed him the wrong way.
Something more sinister? Now this got the thrillseeker's attention. Illucid's ears perked at Ellie's words. Now this could be something. At the mention of breaking off into smaller groups, however, the excitement faded. He agreed that they could cover more ground, but he didn't like the idea of one-on-one time with the mares. He was basically useless, which made him feel worse about it. The best he could do was fight his way out physically, not unlike Miraphy who had that rad magic thing going on. He didn't even care that she was a witch - he just admired her ability. His biggest dream was to go to a magic school, but he doubted a mortal criminal like himself could ever get there. When the paint began rattling off names, however, he seemed to feel a little more at ease about the idea of breaking apart. At least he would get to stay with someone he knew and was partially comfortable with. Dawn was new to him, but she had seemed friendly anyway. He'd give her the benefit of the doubt. If she was good enough to lead the others, perhaps she could be trusted. Someone somewhere obviously thought she was worthy of their trust. He wouldn't let this completely take over his judgement, but the thought did make it easier to be around her.
Turning his attention to said mare, Illucid waited quietly for Dawn to give her input. Ellie's idea seemed valid, but he noticed that it was Dawn who had the final say.

Dawn | Warrior
First of all Dawn was none too pleased with the interactions between Calypso and Jeweline, when she got the chance she would defiantly call them out on it. When they came upon the bones she was impressed that Miraphy and Cornelia were so knowledgeable about animal species in the area. However from what Ellie was saying she had a much clearer idea of what the creature was. Even though she could sense she was hiding something she knew that Ellie would tell her, and possibly Jeweline, when she thought that the time was right.
Dawn listened as Ellie rattled off the groups before she first sent out a message to Ellie and Jeweline before addressing the entire group. "If you two would need any help of any kind don't be afraid or to stubborn to ask. I don't like having so many witches and such about that aren't really completely trustworthy."
After she had sent the message to her teammates she addressed the entire group, making sure to call Calypso out on her behavior as she did so. "The pairings are fine by me, I want you to report back to me with your findings." She turned to look at Calypso and Jeweline while she talked about them "Now you two, even though you're not in the same group I don't want anymore fighting verbal or otherwise. I don't need to deal with major injuries or worse while we are on this trip. Don't think your all 'High and mighty' because in reality you're not. If I were you I'd watch your back and be careful of your actions, more than one of us is willing to fight you if need be. That goes for all of you."
At first she had just been addressing Calypso with the final part, but she became increasingly annoyed with all the fighting that could happen so she just decided it be better to say it to the entire group. The entire time she spoke her voice had taken on an edge, one she never really used unless she was on a mission or someone had seriously pissed her off.

Don't worry Chris, I didn't forget you. This is just an in-between post with Jeweline and not a general "Lilafly resets the reply-order"-post. In that sense: please everyone, wait for Steamfaun and don't just wildly start posting again! (except Dragonwarlordess, in case Dawn has something to say to Jeweline's request) The round is over when I make my next post. So even after Steamfaun (and maybe also Dragonwarldess) posted, you have to wait for me to make a post before we continue!
Jeweline | Warrior
Angry. Jeweline was unmistakingly, undeniably angry. Not at the Scout mare for making the suggestion to split up or at Dawn for calling her out on her method to deal with the half-demon mare. No, she was angry at Calypso for her inoocent-seeming but not-at-all-innocent-being comment. She gritted her teeth and even let a silent growl slip as the Knabstrupper mare said that. She was about to reply something to wipe that self-satisfactory grin out of Calypso's face, but since Dawn wasn't amused with her method, she forcibly kept her mouth shut. Still, she looked at the other warrior attendively. "Dawn, as much as I trust Ellie to be a reliable Scout, I doubt that she has the experties to deal with this mare alone. If you don't want me to watch her, then at least switch groups with Ellie so that you can have an eye on her instead. I don't think this Miraphy-mare is someone we have to worry about and the stallion cannot even use magic, so Ellie should be safe with them." Jeweline said to Dawn telepathically. While Jeweline was not even close to the level of observance Jason had when it came to people, she still was no beginner. And this Calypso pretty much screamed "trouble". She just knew it. While she did not doubt that Ellie could overpower the half-demon, it might still be better to have a trained Warrior do it. Otherwise the young Scout might get hurt in the end and that was the last thing Jeweline wanted to happen.

Dawn | Warrior
Dawn had to admit, she trusted Ellie but she also agreed with Jeweline in that she didn't want to see Ellie get hurt. It was one thing for her to get injured, but she would never forgive herself if something happened to Ellie. She looked around, at Miraphy, Illucid, and Calypso before she gave a snort. She wasn't happy that she had to make this decision, but it was for the safety of their group and that always came before the mission. After a little more thought it occurred to her that Miraphy may be of more help to Ellie than herself anyways. Miraphy seemed to be quite smart and observant when it came to this forest and they were pretty new to the area or at least didn't travel here much. She looked at Ellie with an I'm sorry look before she reverted back to her serious and semi-tense manner. She spoke loud enough so that everyone could hear her but not loud enough that she would scare whatever it was that they were following. "Alright, slight change of grouping. Calypso you're with me, Miraphy and Illucid you're with Ellie. All else including my warning stays the same."
Dawn didn't even look at Jeweline, she was watching Ellie and Calypso. Even though she wasn't watching Jeweline she did speak to her "Happy Now?" She flicked her tail more than slightly annoyed with Jeweline, but there wasn't much she could do about it now. The one thought that kept popping into her head was that she really wanted to set this mare's tail on fire but that would just make things worse for everyone. Dawn patiently waited for everyone to break up into their groups and start looking before she herself started looking for clues.

Serket| Witch "Vaarl?" Cornelia asked. Serket turned her head to the young brown mare and giggled. Witch the creepy voice she answered. " No, I´m not Vaarl. I´m not a simple minded ghost, I´m more than that! But you all see someday! But now, I have to go, the guard located me" In this moment Serket head moved down, she shaked her head and in the next moment she looked surprised to Cornelia. " What happend?" She asked and looked to her left. "Oh really? You don´t know him ?", she asked the ghost to her left and her voice was normal again, She looked a little bit sad to Cornelia. " I´m sorry, an unknown ghost used my body, Vaarl was able to located him, before something bad happens. He is know with us, I mean Vaarl is with us. I hope I didn´t said something bad." The Druid really hoped she didn´t hurt anyone from the group, even if the townsmen called her witch, she was a person, she liked to be with others. She really wanted to help them, but sometimes, she only destroy everything. With lowered head she looked down to the bones. She thought Miraphy and Cornelia are right, with the animal thing. But she wasn´t happy about the idea, to split the group. It must be a magical creature and they are never easy to catch and most of time dangerous. But she didn´t want to say that. post 5| 239 words

Miraphy | Witch
As Ellie suggested that they should all search in groups, Miraphy flattened her ears. She wasn't sure if being separated was such a good idea in this situation. She felt safer in a bigger group. But she still was in no position to complain so she just stayed by Illucid's side. At least she was teamed up with someone she knew. When she was about to think about whether she would feel comfortable around Dawn or not, the draft mare suddenly seemed to change her mind, so instead Ellie was being assigned to them. Considering the nature of Calypso, this was probably the better choice. Miraphy had a bad feeling about the Knabstrupper mare. Also Ellie seemed nice. She was even more observant than the bi-colour-eyed mare herself, so they would probably be able to find the right route. Though between finding the right route and being able to deal with the creature laid worlds. Miraphy would try to convince the mare to rather observe and get the others, since in any sort of fight she would be useless. All she really could do with her magic was hiding. Hiding and stealthing.

Jeweline | Warrior
Dawn didn't seem to be very happy about the new arrangement of the groups, even though she had agreed to it. To her question, the palomino just answered with a nod and then trotted over to Cornelia and Serket. The witch still was a little too creepy for Jeweline's taste, but she had seen creepier things in her days, so she'd be able to deal just fine. "So, right side was it? Let's see if we can find anything there." The palomino said to the two mares and immediately started to wander to the right. If somethign would happen, she could just communicate with the others telepathically and vice versa. By now she hoped that they would actually find anything at all. Whatever this creature was, it surely was a mystery so far. Jeweline was sure that if Melody would have been here, she would have sworn it to be a dragon baby, just to let that be a hope. That girl was way too fascinated with the godly beasts. But no, it could not be a dragon. Dragons wouldn't linger this close to a city without being noticed and they also weren't that small. They were probably the biggest creatures alive, even! So no, no dragon. But some other sort of reptile perhaps? A raptor? Jeweline had dealt with those before. Nasty witty beasts. She silently hoped it to be one though, so that she could use her swords again. It would at least kill the boredom and she could vent some. The annoyance she got from dealing with Calypso for as much as half an hour was already enough to fuel her to kill something. At best something she could sell later or eat later. "You said you can talk with ghosts, so, how does that work exactly?" Jeweline eventually asked Serket, since she had to admit that she had grown curious. "And could they tell us what that thief is?" She added, since that would save all of them a lot of time.

The Novein flew away from where it ate the chicken and judging by the scales Ellie found, it might have fought with someone or something over its prey. There might be a blood track to be found, a faint one at that, just droplets on leaves at best. This trail might lead to the cave the Novein has its nest in. But this case is rumoured to be haunted and no one has returned alive from it. (it can get us a few rounds to get to this, but I pretty much want to wrap this up this week since university starts again for me next week)

Ellie|Scout Ellie nodded to Dawn, but inside she was sulking. "I could've handled the half-blood no problem." She pouted as she moved to her group. She pulled a scale from her pack and carefully used it to lay out a spell that would make any traces of the creature more visible, even to the most un-observant person here. Instantly a leaf a few yards ahead lit up. She moved slowly forward to check it out. Several tiny drops of blood marked the leaf. She reached out with her sensing talent again to be sure and noted a small creature at the furthest edge of her range, about 9 km, to the northeast. She quickly reported it to Dawn and Jeweline "I may have the creature, its about 9 km to the northeast. Its out of my range for detailing spells, so I have no idea what it is other than it is small, but its there." After she made her report she called aloud. "I've got a blood trail! Its heading northeast." The began trotting that direction. "This way!" She picked her speed carefully, not so fast everyone would be worn out when they got there, but it also wouldn't take them all day to get there. If Dawn or Jeweline decided to go faster it was up to them.

Dawn heard Ellie call out that she had found a blood trail, they were going to solve this soon and for once she was thankful for that. Luckily she and Calypso hadn't gone too far before she had called out. " Come on get moving, the quicker we get there the quicker I can get you out of my hair." Dawn was excited, and picked up her pace until she was at Ellie's side; whether or not Calypso had followed her she didn't care, they were part of the larger group once again so it would be harder for her to try anything stupid and Ellie and herself could work together against her if need be. It was exciting for her to complete a mission as always and this one wasn't even planned. "Good work Ellie, we should have this problem solved in no time at all. I have to admit I wasn't really pleased with this whole situation but its turning out better than I though."

Cornelia | Poor
"No, I´m not Vaarl. I´m not a simple minded ghost, I´m more than that! But you all see someday! But now, I have to go, the guard located me" Serket said. Or her mouth did, again with her empty and unrecognizable voice. "Wait, what?" Cornelia just said, and before she could react, Serket was back. She looked confsued, and then shortly "talked" with the ghost. "I´m sorry, an unknown ghost used my body, Vaarl was able to located him, before something bad happens. He is know with us, I mean Vaarl is with us. I hope I didn´t said something bad." Serket said. And this time she was sure it was her friend behind the voice, and not anyone else. "Uhhh, well... you were kinda rude for a moment, but it was not for any long. Next time you get the chance, maybe you shoul talk with Miraphy tho´" Cornelia said, with a worried and calm voice. "But that is it. No more harm was made."
Ellie, one of the first one to form the group, got the idea to split into smaller groups, so they could cover more ground. Cornelia was not sure what she thought about this idea. She felt more safe in a bigger group, but on the other hand, the group was... weird. She did not trust them completly, especially not Calypso. Also, she had ended up with the palomino mare, and she did really look like a fighter. She felt more safe with her then with some of the others, so she did not complain. "You said you can talk with ghosts, so, how does that work exactly? And could they tell us what that thief is?" Jeweline asked Serket. Cornelia felt it ironic to what just happened to Serket. At the point where Ellie called out to tell about the blood, Cornelia and her group were already gone. At least Cornelia did not hear her.

Serket listend carefully to Cornelia. She nodded, when the young mare told her, to talk to Miraphy."Yes, I think what would be right"
The witch followed the palomino mare and looked to the ground. She was looking for any tracks of the animal, when she got asked by Jeweline: "You said you can talk with ghosts, so, how does that work exactly? And could they tell us what that thief is?" Serket rolled her eyes. It seems like all the other members of the group, didn´t noticed the change and also the strange ghost. Serket sighed. "Yes, I can, but sadly the ghost can´t find them, they also have to wander around like we do. I could tell another ghost to talk mentally with a ghost, which is in the forest, but in this forest are also a lot of bad ghost." She looked to Cornelia and back to Jeweline. "You both need to know something. Ther are more then one type of ghost. Banshees and Phenomena are also pat of the ghost familie. Banshees are very cruel beeings, they live in the world between life and death and they are able to attack mortals out of this demention. Phenomena are similiar but they have to make themself visible, visible also for mortals, to attack someone. The problem with both is, they really want to kill mortal and they also attack other ghost." She explaned.

Illucid
[ stallion | independent | criminal ]
- - - - - - - - - - - - - Illucid was almost disappointed at the finding of the blood trail. He was, in a way, looking forward to working in the smaller groups. It meant less strangers and more importantly, less mares to handle. He did suppose that finding this thing was the actual point of the group altogether, so he didn't complain as he lurched forward. This was what he was waiting for - a chance to get his feet moving. Unfortunately, they seemed to be starting off at a slower pace, and Illucid found himself at a slow canter behind Ellie and Dawn, who had joined them shortly after Ellie's finding. His legs itched to rocket ahead, but he kept himself under control and even shot a look at Miraphy to make sure she was following along. This proved to be a dangerous move for the clumsy stallion who promptly tripped over his own hooves. The buckskin was on his feet as quickly as he had fallen, however, and continued on as though nothing had happened, despite the heat spreading across his cheeks. He tried to stay focused on the path ahead this time, being more careful as to where he placed his steps.

Calypso | Unseelie
As expected the palomino mare took action and suggested to switch groups - though Calypso didn't hear it, but it was obvious that the three horses communicate via thoughts. The knabstrupper mare smiled satisfied, as it was now quite confirmed that they were scared of her. At least Jeweline knew that they shouldn't underestimate the half demon. Maybe the other should also keep an eye on her, because it was just a question of time when she would take action. Calypso didn't really cared about the weak mortals, but she hated Ellie and Dawn. Those two behaved like they were the most powerful in this group and could do whatever they wanted. They didn't saw Calypso as danger and that was what made the more angry. If they would know what is watching them, they would probably not be so easy going. Jeweline on the other hand was an exception. Sure she provoked the knabstrupper mare and had a sharp tongue, but that was exactly what the half demon liked about her. Because she probably knew, that Calypso was dangerous.
It was decided to switch groups and so Calypso ended with Dawn.As soon as they started walking away from the group, the unsympathetic started to take the lead and give her orders. What was she thinking? Turning her back to an unseelie and speak to her like a weak mortal? Calypso started to hate Dawn even more and she just wanted to attack her. To make clear that she was the stronger one and to see fear in her eyes. But before the half demon could do anything, Dawn decided to go back to Ellie's group. And that was there leader? How pathetic! Running back to her camarades after a few minutes, like a filly to her mother. "Pathetic." Calypso just said with a contemptuous voice, as they were again with the group. "And you call yourself warriors? You all remind me more of a bunch of little children eating dirt." the knabstrupper said with a smirk, to make clear how childrish they actions and behavior was. This mission was nothing more than a joke. The only one who behaves like a true warrior was Jeweline. Calypso didn't understand why the palomino mare had so much respect for Dawn, who would be probably lost without Ellie.

Dawn|Warrior
Dawn stopped in her tracks as she herd the mare speak, She thinks we are dirt eating children, that was enough to thoroughly piss her off. Without much warning she wheeled around to face the mare whom they had all been keeping an eye on during the trip. If it were not for the fact it may compromise the mission Dawn would have happily set her tail on fire or may have even done worse, but she settled instead for just pretty much exploding on her. There was a fire in her eye and her voice was no where near as inviting and calm as it had been for the duration of the trip, "I'd watch my tongue if I were you, the only one acting childish here is you. If you were so intent on joining us as some form of entertainment for yourself then you should have stayed back at the city. I WON'T tolerate any trickery from YOU or anyone else. And I would suggest if you don't want any trouble for the rest of this trip you watch your back and keep your actions in check." With that she let out a growl and turned back around, she may not have seemed like she was in charge during this trip or may not have seemed like a worthy leader, but she was indeed keeping a close eye on this mare and her actions. It took a decent amount of button pushing before Dawn would go from a levelheaded leader to blowing up on someone, but the strange mare had succeeded in doing so. Just to be sure that this mare knew she meant business without turning around she spoke one last sentence to her, "And just to be clear, if you try anything stupid you will be dealing with me" The threat wasn't so empty as the others would hope and she greatly wanted this trip to end at this point in time just so she wouldn't have to babysit this mare any longer. Jeweline calling her Trash seemed to be quite the fitting description for her.
