Nordberg Objective Reports of missing productive livestock like chickens or raided larders have been made. If it is a person, a demon, a monster or even a fae is unknown. All that is known is that the doings of this creature pose a serious problem, especially to the poorer households who need the meat to get through the coming winter. An alliance of people forms who are determined to find the one who causes these casualties and punish them justly. The trail leads into the forest of the outskirts of Nordberg.

Miraphy | Witch
As the paint mare walked through the, to her well-known, forest, she looked to both sides frantically. Yes, there has been mysterious raids from some critter or even a person and she was determined to find them, but she still was worried that it was a person. She was not good with people and wouldn’t know how to deal with the situation. In any case, she couldn’t let these thieveries go on like this or she’d have trouble getting through winter. There was no real trail she could follow, which caused her to blindly wander through the forest. After a while she realized that this wouldn’t work and eventually turned back as another idea came to her. If this perhaps was a general problem and not just hers, then she might find some clues in the actual city. Perhaps that was too risky, but compared to just staying home and protecting her food night and day, this was the better option. After about an hour, she arrived at the southern gate and pulled her hood over her head. Being recognized as a witch was the last thing she wanted. She didn’t need to go far anyway. Just to the next request board. If she’d find a note that described her exact problem, she’d just hope that a mage would take care of it eventually. When she eventually found one, a few people already stood around it. She stopped a few meters away, not wanting to squeeze herself through the small crowd. Instead, she listened to what was the problem. »I had a freshly butchered turkey this big and it just up and vanished. Stolen, I tell you!« A wolf complained. »If it only were a stupid turkey for me. I lost two of my laying hens last night! I found no tracks, so it can’t be a fox.« A doe said worriedly. It seems I’m not the only one with a problem of disappearing meat. Miraphy thought. But the question now was what to do about it. »If you complain about it, then you also should have the guts to do something about it, don’t you think?« A voice suddenly rose over the crowd, which drew Miraphy’s attention to its speaker. It had been a palomino mare who had spoken and now looked at the complaining people with a pejorative expression. The paint mare lowered her head a bit. While she had not openly complained, she had at least thought about letting someone else handle the situation. The palomino mare was right though. One should handle one’s problems oneself. »I have three children that get home from school at noon. I cannot just leave and let them come home to an empty house.« The doe said, being the only one to speak up. »I live a little outside the city and I saw a trail leading into the woods when one of my chicken was stolen. No way I’m going into the forest. I’d rather die.« A bear growled and shook his head. Apparently he was a farmer. Maybe. »Then suit yourself, folks. Because at least I have time and interest.« The palomino mare said and rolled her eyes. Miraphy was not sure what to do. The forest was dangerous, but if she used a little magic, her cover would immediately be blown and she would burn on a stick. As the crowd cleared away little by little, she noticed that the palomino mare wore two swords, one on each side. Was she a guard off-duty or even a mage? In any case, she looked like she knew how to handle these swords. It would be safe with her around, wouldn’t it? Timidly Miraphy took a few steps into the golden coated mare’s direction. »Ohm…excuse me. You said you would go after the thief?« She asked quietly. »That’s what I’m planning at least. Ought to be interesting and a method to kill time. Do you want to join me?« »Me? Join you? Ohm…if it’s not too much trouble, then yes. I can’t do much against monsters or anything like that, but I also want to find the thief.« Miraphy said with lowered eyes. »At least someone here is showing some courage. I like it.« The mare said and then looked around at the other people that remained. »Anyone else want to join?« She asked into the round. Miraphy looked to the ground. Hopefully everything would be fine.

Jeweline | Warrior
Finishing a job always brought a certain wave of satisfaction with it, especially when the team had been functioning as one. Slaughtering some monsters that had stolen a child and retrieving said child alive really had been an interesting job for once and Jeweline had enjoyed it. She looked at her current teammates Dawn and Elicia. »I don’t know about you, but I could still do another job just now. Some extra cash can’t hurt after all.« She said with a grin. Dawn was the mission’s leader, not her, but the brown mare hopefully wouldn’t have anything against it. As they came across a request board, Jeweline noticed the unusual crowd in front of it. Odd, has something happened? She thought as they got closer. Eventually the palomino mare picked up several complaints that all seemed to circle around a meat-stealing thief. But it looked like, again, the people relied on a mage to do the job for them instead of doing it themselves. How pathetic. »If you complain about it, then you also should have the guts to do something about it, don’t you think?« Jeweline said with a raised voice when she couldn’t take the bickering anymore. »I have three children that get home from school at noon. I cannot just leave and let them come home to an empty house.« A doe said. Jeweline understood the reasoning but still found it to be cowardly. She could just give the children to a neighbour for the time being, couldn’t she? »I live a little outside the city and I saw a trail leading into the woods when one of my chicken was stolen. No way I’m going into the forest. I’d rather die.« A bear growled and shook his head. A lead! Finally. And even in the forest! Looks like there will be more slaughtering. Jeweline thought enthusiastically and supressed a grin. Her magic already itched at the urge to draw her swords and fight. »Then suit yourself, folks. Because at least I have time and interest.« Jeweline said and rolled her eyes. One by one the crowd slowly dissolved. Cowards. Jeweline thought dismissively. »Ohm…excuse me. You said you would go after the thief?« A shy looking mare, who hid her face behind a hood, suddenly asked. »That’s what I’m planning at least. Ought to be interesting and a method to kill time. Do you want to join me?« Jeweline said, happy that at least one of the people around had to guts to take action. »Me? Join you? Ohm…if it’s not too much trouble, then yes. I can’t do much against monsters or anything like that, but I also want to find the thief.« The mare said timidly. »At least someone here is showing some courage. I like it.« Jeweline said and then looked around at the remaining crowd. »Anyone else want to join?« She asked and hoped to not get into trouble with Dawn for her bold attitude.

It had been a normal day for Cornelia. She had walked around and asked for money. Like any other day in this freaking life, she thought. She was tired of living the same whole day over and over and over again. She was tired of getting rejected and the faces they made when they thought she did not see them. She hated nothing more than their face full of disgust when they saw her. Maybe when the others called her "bastard" was worse. Maybe. She saw people sating in a small crowd. She got curious and walked closer. She could hear them talk, and they all sounded so angry. »I had a freshly butchered turkey this big and it just up and vanished. Stolen, I tell you!«, somebody said, Cornelia just could not see who it was. I need to get closer. She squeezed closer to the center to find out what was going on. She was small, most people did not mind her or did not notice at all. »If it only were a stupid turkey for me. I lost two of my laying hens last night! I found no tracks, so it can’t be a fox.« somebody said, it was a doe. Cornelia suddenly realized what they were talking about. People around town had started to loose their animals. Cornelia's family did not own any, but their neighbors had lost something too. She did not remember what is was though. »If you complain about it, then you also should have the guts to do something about it, don’t you think?« a mare said. It was loud and Cornelia turned her head to lookat who it was. A mare. She was build beautiful and had two swords. She did not look like anybody to mess with. People satrted complaining come with excuses about why they could not go. It semmed to annoy her. Cornelia could understand. She did like either when people complained about something, and expected somebody else to take care of it. Cornelia was raised the opposite way. If you wanted something, you worked for it. And even if you work, it dosn't allways succes. The mare asked if anybody wanted to help solve this problem, and another mare had volunteered. Cornelia wanted to join, she had heard it may lead out to the woods, and Cornelia had been there many times, she knew it. Also, there might be a reward, and her family desperate could use that. »Let me join« Corneia said, and stepped forward. People did not just look, but stared at her. How could a so small, weak and poor young lady sign up for something like that? Somebody even laughed over her. Cornelia was used to people laugh at her, and did not seem to care. She insteed kept her focus and the mare she had asked.

Elicia - Scout
Ellie had been watching quietly from the edge of the crowd. She had been placed on a team with Jeweline and Dawn, and while the golden mare seemed nice enough Ellie had hardly said a word to her. She was slightly ashamed to admit she had been kind of clingy to Dawn since they left Verensa, because she knew and trusted her. They had all done their jobs well and had been successful. They technically did not have to begin heading back to Verensa for almost two weeks, because they had finished so quickly. As they passed the message board in town Jeweline remarked
>>I don’t know about you, but I could still do another job just now. Some extra cash can’t hurt after all. << Ellie had nodded in agreement though she was sure Jeweline couldn’t see her. A little extra spending money never hurt. Ellie had actually wanted to pick up another couple of journals for missions, they came in handy. She watched Jeweline move closer to the crowd. Ellie focused on the crowd and listened to the various complaints. These whiners made Jynx want to roll her eyes I know they are being pitiful Ellie thought to her other half but you can’t blame them for being scared. Jynx retreated with a huff into the back of Ellie’s consciousness and Ellie sighed in relief. The last thing she needed was for Jynx to insult the wrong person. The last time that happened she had ended up with bruises in places she hadn’t realized she could get them. She had missed most of the exchange but saw the crowd drifting apart. A hooded mare approached Jeweline, Ellie couldn’t hear her but Jeweline seemed to approve of whatever it was she said.
»At least someone here is showing some courage. I like it.« Ellie watched the golden mare scan the remaining people »Anyone else want to join?«
»Let me join« A small brown mare called out. She looked young, but feisty. She ignored the laughter that greeted her comment and watched Jeweline. Ellie was impressed by this young mare, she looked just a little older than her youngest sister. But as she thought about this situation Ellie began to shake her head with a sigh, this was a thing now, and it couldn’t be helped. She scanned the crowd looking for any others that looked like they might join, but it was hard to tell. A few more people drifted away chuckling to themselves; they thought this was a joke. She leaned in closer to Dawn.
»Well it looks like we may have another job to do. If you want to make it a vote or something I really don’t mind doing it. We have time to kill and a little extra coin is never a bad thing.« She went back to watching the crowd and shook her mane as she thought. This is going to get very interesting.

Dawn | Warrior
Dawn was none to impressed that Jeweline had gone over her head, after all she was the leader of the group. It was nice to have Ellie with her, and she could tell that this entire situation was making her uncomfortable. Dawn stood back and watched the palomino mare take charge, she didn't object to the extra coin or job, it was the matter that it had come about that annoyed her the most. She have a snort of frustration and kept a cold stare on the mare, though she was unhappy, she had to admit that these people needed help.
Dawn had listened to the complaints of the people and was quiet while Jeweline pleaded her case, but this time she stepped forward and took charge herself. If they were going to do this they were going to follow her whether they liked it or not. She stood tall and spoke to the crowd, in a knowing but commanding manner. >> Now everyone listen here. I'm aware that many of you are unable to join us to find out who this thief is or scared to do so, but we need your help regardless. I would much appreciate it if those of you who have been effected by this situation could tell us what has been stolen from you and any signs of the thief that you may have seen. This information will help us greatly in finding them. Now if you are able, we would appreciate a few extra hands to help us keep an eye out for signs of the thief as we search. << Dawn removed a notepad from her bag and began writing down each person's story as they came up and spoke to her. At least her mannerisms didn't scare off the people like those of her partner. This was making out to be an interesting trip, and she wasn't sure if it was in a good way or a bad way at this point.

Serket|Witch
Serket walked on a small path to Nordberg, it was a small path in the woods, the only path from her hut to a bigger street. She wore her dirty brown cape and also some wind chimes. They rang with every step Serket maked. She wanted to give them Cornelia, a poor mare, she met some time ago. Her plan was, to sell them together with Cornelia at the market, to help the young mare. Normally Serket doesn´t care about the townsmen, but in this chase it was different, she liked Cornelia and her cunning personality. After a few minutes she left the forest. She walked to the southern gate, without the hood on her head. Serket knew, that nobody would try to catch her, most people feared her too much, to even look at her. The only exception she made was at the gate itself. She through the hood over the head and passed the gate, with ringing steps, she walked down the street, when she saw a crowned around the next request board. With a short ringing sound from her wind chimes, she stopped and stared at them. She recognized some mages, she saw in a vision some time ago and she also found Cornelia in the crowd.

Calypso | Unseelie
It was really a nice change to walk on the streets of Nordberg, than through the dangerous forest, that Calypso called her home. She tried to visit the big and beautiful city from time to time, just to escape from the annoying creatures that also lived in Jengu. The city live was really interesting for the mare. Although she had to use an illusion spell to hide her horn and wear a cloak to look like a mortal, she feel relaxed. Maybe because of her half mortal blood, she was so fascinated by the people who lived in cities and the city itself. Calypso stopped near huge group of all sort of animals, that seemed to be quite annoyed and angry.
"I had a freshly butchered turkey this big and it just up and vanished. Stolen, I tell you!" someone said and got Calypso's attention. It looked like they had some quite serious problem, but not that the mare was interested to help those weak mortals. They should learn to solve their problems alone or just accept that they are no match for faes. Somehow it was fun to watch them, how helpless and even scared they seemed, maybe even knowing that they had no chance to survive. But it was also pathetic, how they expected help for exchange for money or other useless stuff.
It got interesting, as a palomino mare started to speak; "Then suit yourself, folks. Because at least I have time and interest.".
Why would someone like her try to help those weaklings? Calypso asked herself, knowing that the mare and her two friends were far from being normal. Without hasistaing the knabstrupper mare came closer to the group. At the time already some people volunteered to help, but these weren't important. "I would also like to join." she said confidently with a smile, as she stood before the palomino mare in her pastel purple cloak. " I could help you to find the way through the forest." she tried to find a normal and useful reason for joining the team. The unseelie had no interest to help the mortals or even in a payment, she just wanted to learn more about those three mares. It sure would be an interesting adventure and a nice change. Hopefully they would let her join. ______ 384 Words || Post 1

Miraphy | Witch
The red maned mare watched as another mare stepped forward to volunteer in the search for the thief. It made her feel a little bit better since that meant she was not the only one to step forward. Otherwise, she might have died of embarrassment. While listening to what everyone else said, she heard a strange ringing sound in her ears, like empty wood clanking together mixed with the sweet tune of clanking metal. Definitely wind chimes. But what would wind chimes do here? Miraphy looked around but couldn't see any. Then again, her hearing was somewhat better than that of normal people, so it could as well be far away. The sound, however, grew louder by the minute and eventually a hooded horse came into sight who seemed to carry dozens of wind chimes. All of them were beautifully made and gave up sweet sounds. What wouldn't she give for having some spare coins to buy one! But she never had spare coins, so it was a wish quickly shoved to the back of her mind. The equine with the wind chimes had their hood up so that Miraphy couldn't see their face, but she felt something strange about them. Something that made her feel safe but at the same time uneasy. As the horse stopped to look at the crowd gathered around the request board, Miraphy quickly deviated her glance. She did not want the equine to notice that she had been staring at her. While the wind-chime horse had arrived, yet another person has stepped up. A mare that, judging by the expensive-looking colour of her cloak, was at least of the wealthy Middle Class. Despite that, there also seemed to be something off about her. In another way than what was off with the wind-chime horse, but still off. It was more a feeling than it was a certain fact, but since her hunches when it came to people usually were right, Miraphy decided to trust her gut feeling and to act with caution around this spotted mare.

Jeweline | Warrior
Jeweline noticed the cold stare Dawn gave her and hoped she had not overstepped her boundaries just now. It sometimes happened that she was way too eager, which in turn annoyed her teammates. She didn't want it to end like this one time where Fuhur, an old warrior stallion, had gotten so pissed at her that he had forcefully dragged her away from the old lady who had needed help. She did not think that Dawn would be that extreme, but she'd better cut her losses. In any case, she was sure to not hear the end of it on the way home. As Dawn stepped forward and took charge, Jeweline willingly made a step back to give the brown mare more space. It was Dawn's mission, she was the leader. If she wanted to do this herself then so be it. At least the scolding might wait for later. Having Dawn take charge gave Jeweline the opportunity to finally address Elicia for once. The paint mare had not said a single word to her this entire time, which meant a lot since it had been a few weeks now. The palomino had overheard that she didn't anything against the idea of accepting this job, but since she had said this to Dawn, it was only fair to ask her personally. "I hope this isn't too uncomfortable for you, Ellie. I didn't want to put you and Dawn into an awkward position." She apologised with a friendly smile. Her eyes turned to the side when she suddenly picked up the sound of something very melodic. She couldn't quite place what it was, but a look down the street answered her unspoken question anyways. A horse - as far as Jeweline could tell it was a mare - was carrying dozens of wind chimes with her that made her almost look like a shellycoat that had run into a market stand of wind chimes. Jeweline grinned to herself when she thought about that. A few meters away from the crowd, the mare stopped and watched. If she wanted to participate or not or if she was just a spectator was unclear, but Jeweline sensed some strange vibes coming from her. She'd keep an eye on this mare, just in case. "It was my idea after all. No need to drag you and Dawn into it, though it looks like she took on the task now." Jeweline continued as she turned back to Elicia and added the last bit a little more quietly so that Dawn wouldn't hear her. She was in enough trouble as it was. As she talked to Ellie, another mare stepped up to the crowd and offered her participation as well. Jeweline felt her senses tingle and turned her head to look at the newcomer. At first glance, she didn't see anything off about the mare. As she looked closer into her eyes, though, it was unmistakable. The distinct scent of Unseelie magic, mortal traces and the patterns of an illusion spell. This mare was in no ways a normal mortal, but, as much as Jeweline could tell, a hybrid. A half-fae maybe, but she was not sure. When it came to reading and identifying presences, she was at a slight disadvantage as a Warrior. "Ellie, can you tell me what she is?" She asked the Scout mare in thoughts without looking at her. The stranger should not notice that her cover had already been blown after all. Something told Jeweline, that the purple cloaked mare did not care either way, though. After all, the palomino mare and her two companions also had to keep up their charades. Without saying a word, Jeweline squinted her eyes slightly and looked at the mare. It was a silent agreement of "You don't blow our cover, we won't blow yours".

Ellie| Scout
While Dawn hadn’t replied to Ellie, she was sure it had helped calm the mare, at least a little. She watched Dawn do what Dawn did best; be in charge. This was fine by Ellie and she had no desire at all to be in charge. But when Jeweline approached her she was caught off guard.
"I hope this isn't too uncomfortable for you, Ellie. I didn't want to put you and Dawn into an awkward position." She apologized with a friendly smile. Ellie smiled back awkwardly before replying.
“Its okay, I was going to ask Dawn about another job anyway.” She paused as she thought “Though maybe not this one.” She tried to joke. Jeweline turned to look for the source of a chiming sound. Ellie had felt the mare’s approach and had already given her a quick glance. The chime covered mare had spotted the young one who spoke up earlier and seemed to recognize her. Even though she had magic Ellie set that aside for later. If she was acquainted with a mortal she couldn’t be too bad. Then Jeweline’s gaze shifted to a new disturbance. Ellie could immediately tell she was a demon cross. Dark magic seemed to leak from her body making Ellie whose magic tended toward light very uncomfortable. Jeweline pulled her attention back as she finished speaking.
"It was my idea after all. No need to drag you and Dawn into it, though it looks like she took on the task now." Ellie giggled a bit at the last part before answering.
“I think she is more peeved that you didn’t ask first than anything. She can be a stickler for rules.” Ellie whispered back. She could tell Jeweline was still distracted by the newcomer and when the mare spoke Jeweline turned back to watch her. Ellie had sent out a discrete spell to verify, but she was sure there was an illusion spell at work. “The half demon knows magic and her magic is dark? Great.” Ellie thought. But at least she seemed to be behaving herself for the time being. And who knew how long that would last.
"Ellie, can you tell me what she is?" Jeweline’s question surprised her but Ellie quickly obliged with an update.
“She is a demon cross, has an illusion spell going, and is definitely a dark magic user. She is currently behaving herself, and offered her help, but I’m not sure how much ‘help’ she will be.” She brought up an image of the mare with chimes. “She has magic too, I can’t tell what kind, but she seems familiar with at least one mortal in the crowd so she can’t be too horrible.” Ellie sent these thoughts to Dawn as well, she needed to be kept in the loop, in case things went pear shaped. She watched the spotted mare in the purple cloak quietly. She looked bored, and a bored Unseelie was a dangerous thing. Ellie sent her thoughts out to her companions. “I think we should let her come with. If she is with us we can keep an eye on her and make sure she behaves.” Ellie was willing to bet her interest in joining had more to do with Ellie's team than actually being helpful. Ellie made a mental note to keep tabs on that mare at all times, and memorized how her magic signature felt. As long as Ellie was around the purple cloaked mare had better behave, or else there were two warrior mages that would quickly take her apart if Ellie said to.

Calypso | Unseelie
Calypso waited for an answer, but she didn't get one. All she got was just a skeptical look. The knabstrupper mare expected such a reaction, at least it wasn't hard for them to find out, that she wasn't a normal mortal. They weren't either. Calypso smirked amused as she saw how nervous the shortest of the three mares was. The unseelie couldn't tell how much the mare knew about her, but it was enough to see some uncertainty in her eyes. "Don't look at me like that. At least we're all here just to help." Calypso said to the palomino horse with a smile, as agreement to keep quiet about their secret. She knew exactly what the mare meant with her look. It was clear, that Calypso gained now all of the attention. One looked serious, others scared and nervous. It was a great feeling to know, that everyone was uncomfortable near her. It wasn't hard to tell, that they tried to know more about Calypso and her magic, but that didn't bother her at all.It was just understandable that they don't trust her. How could they? They don't even know who was standing before them.
Now Calypso took a closer look at the whole team, that was formed. The mare with reddish-brown coat, that had recently quite a speak to the people, who stood around the request board, seemed to be the leader. Maybe she wants to scare others with her loud and strong voice, to get the respect she wants or to have everything under her control. Calypso wasn't really impressed of her performance, but she would totally keep an eye on her.Although the knabstrupper mare offered her help, everything she said was a lie. There was no need she would listen to other commands. The other two mortal mares looked weak and young. Calypso didn't really understand why these two offered there help. Probably they wanted to act brave, but as soon as they would leave the city they would rethink the situation and run away. Whithout help from the three feas they have as good as no chance to survive. Calypso didn't plan to help them in any way - not with the mission and not to stay alive. The mare just wanted to some fun and adventure.
Calypso knew that she had no trust from the others, but that was unimportant for her. She didn't trust them either.

Dawn | Warrior
Dawn was kept busy with all the hubbub of writing down stolen items and keeping an eye on the behavior of the new party members she had to keep track of. When she heard the chimes and saw the strange equine other things were brought to her attention by her teammates. The spotted mare in the purple cloak that Ellie had told her about had some tells that suggested to Dawn that she was holding something back, possibly lying to the group. It would be a good idea to keep her close, as her mother always said keep your friends close, but your enemies closer. Dawn thought for a moment and then mentally spoke to Ellie and Jeweline.
"I agree, we need to keep a close eye on her. At least she agrees not to blow our cover, but she's lying about something, all the tells are there to suggest so. We should get everyone to settle down and start planning out what our next move will be. The sooner we get on the trail of the thief the better."
Dawn felt as though she was being regarded as an power hungry know it all, but she really just wanted to get home and spend some time with her brother and newfound crush (Thanks to some help from Ellie on a previous mission). Although she wasn't happy that Jeweline had overstepped her bounds without asking first, Dawn was aware that the extra coin they would earn would be beneficial in the future, especially in Ellie's case since she used quite a few journals in her position. As it was, Dawn had started using them some herself to keep track of important happenings, more like a diary for her than anything else, but she would never tell anyone that. Maybe if she was lucky she could get some neat little gift for her crush to show how much she appreciated him, but that was for later. Dawn returned her thoughts to the issue at hand and kept an eye on the other magic users in their presence while keeping close contact with her team.

Cornelia was glad that these people had let her in. For a moment, she was afraid they would not let her, but actually one of them even looked impressed by her! She took side beside the people who looked like they were the group for this so called "mission". And while she was staning there, a very well known sounds for her came from the streets. No way, it can't be. Can it...? she thougt. She could hear the sound of very familiar wind chimes. They sounded just like the ones from Serket's hut. By hearing the ringing sound, all the memories of them started coming to her. She had meet her one day when she was very sick, and Serket had without question helped her out. Cornelia liked her, Serket was very nice to her. But then again, she was no expert in wind chimes, maybe all of them sounded the same. Either way, the sound reminded her of Serket, and she could not help but to give a little smile.
A mare who had just arrived had looked on her weird. She her body had small dots overall, and she seemd to quietly judge Cornelia. She was used to peoples faces and being judged all the time, but this was different. She was different from the other people. Also, the palomino mare who had started all this and her friend did not seem to like this stranger either. Cornelia decided to keep an eye on the stranger, but as she did when she meet Serket the first time, not to act out of her own judgment before actually knowing the person.
But it seemed like Cornelia was wrong about who was the owner of the ringing sound. When she looked around another time, she was surprised when she was Serket in between the cityfolks, full of ringing wind chimes. "Serket...?" she asked out to her with a surprised face, but with a hint of joy.

Illucid [ stallion | independent | criminal ] - - - - - - - - - - - - - Hiding in the back of what was left of the crowd stood a buckskin stallion, hidden by the black cape that was draped across his back. His hood was pulled up, keeping his scarred face shadowed from the others. Illucid gazed on, blue eyes scanning and ears flicking curiously as he listened to their conversation. As a criminal, he didn't have much room to talk, though he wasn't a criminal entirely by choice. He was, very slowly, trying to make something of himself. But, as it would have it, money was scarce, and criminals had a tough time moving up in life. Illucid was almost sure he'd be stuck searching for scraps for the rest of his life. At least at this rate. Usually, something of this sort of event wouldn't have interested the young stallion, but perhaps this was something he could do to prove himself. After all, what type of criminal helps chase down other criminals? A good one, no doubt.
Hope welled inside the stallion's chest. This could be his chance to prove that he wasn't an ordinary criminal, that he was trying to make himself a better life. He didn't know any of the others here, or at least those he could see. The hood didn't provide much vision, and having been floating around the back of the group, it was hard to see. Illucid's head lowered as he shifted through the crowd, trying to get closer to the group that had begun to form. He wasn't great at being social, but he did know the forest around Nordberg very well. Maybe he could be of help that way? Illucid also had the mind of a criminal, in a way. He had experience stealing things, at least. Surely they could use him for something.
As he ambled near, Illucid lifted his head, speaking out from the darkness of his hood. "Room for one more?" he asked. He had no idea who was in charge and hadn't even given the others a second look. He had no desire to get to know any of them any better. Having gotten closer, though, he took the opportunity to observe. If he was going to travel with them, he might as well have a look. From first glance, it appeared that most knew at least someone else here. A mare in a hood. Something seemed oddly familiar about her, but he couldn't place her with her hood up like that. Admittedly, he wasn't looking very hard either - a single glance before he was onto the next. A palomino who, Illucid thought, could be the one heading this search team. She looked confident enough, especially with those swords at her sides. His gaze flicked towards a few more, hesitating a little too long on the mare with the wind chimes. She too, had her hood up, so Illucid couldn't tell much about her. He wasn't sure about the others and just let it go with a shrug to himself. He didn't have to have any friends to go along with them. As long as he got to run around and rid some of his excess energy, be a little reckless, he'd be perfectly happy.

Serket| Witch
The Witch still looked at the group. She listened to them. She heared that, the spottet Mare wanted to join them and was confused about the time, the 3 mages need to answer. Something strange is going on ... she thought. She lowered her head and whispered to Vaarl: "Vaarl, I know, you watched them for some time. What happens here?" Vaarl was the first ghost, she met in Nordberg and since then, a loyal companion. He was an strong and blind guard, before he died, now, he´s the guard of sirks house and some times a stalker. He was watching the group for some time now and answered her. "Oh, you mean here is someone, who stolen chicken and other stuff and the group wants to catch them ? But Cornelia ....", she answered him. She lifted her head, when Cornelia called her name and she decided to go to them. "Vaarl, please stay a little bit away and look for the guards and the other townsmen. You know the reason." Before she was able to make a first step, a hooded horse, walked to the group and asked, if they have the room for another one and she saw. She knew how a criminal moves and she was sure, he was one. .. Is he a friend of Tito ? ... She asked herself and than walked to the group.
Her first stop was Cornelia. She smiled at her:" Hey, little girl, I was searching for you. I mad this wind chimes and.., well doesn´t matter. I hearded from Vaarl, you want to search for the thief.", when she looked at the red brown mare and the palomino mare, "I want to join, I live in this forest and well, I have friends on the other side, I´m sure, you know what I mean."

Miraphy | Witch
Miraphy had good ears. Always had them. So when the hooded wind-chime horse started to seemingly speak to the air, she heard every word. Who was Vaarl? The paint mare did not see anyone the strange horse could be talking to. The druid watched anxiously as the hooded equine with the wind chimes approached after having muttered something about chicken and Cornelia. Out of fear she had noticed her staring and was now about to confront her about it, Miraphy made a step back and lowered her head. But she was not the horse's goal, but the small brown mare next to Miraphy. When the wind-chime horse started talking to the young girl, she now noticed that it was a mare. And hadn't the brown mare - Cornelia apparently - refered to her as Serket? In any case, Miraphy was not sure what to think about this Serket. She was strange, to say the least. When she asked to join the group and said something about friends on the other side, Miraphy was very sure that this would not end well. A witch. This mare was a witch. A real witch apparently. Only through cruel rituals one could speak with ghosts. The paint mare herself was regarded as a witch for practicing the dark art of shapeshifting, but this mare here seemed to be more the perfect representation of what most people believed witches to be like. Miraphy bit her lip nervously, because also she was afraid of such dark doings. But perhaps it was not wise to judge, when she herself was considered a witch. Maybe Serket was even fond of her, who knew? In any case, Mira was glad that Moire was out hunting or something. She did not want her magpie companion to possibly end as the ingredient of a soup.
The arrival of Serket had distracted Miraphy to the point that she only now noticed the other hooded horse in the crowd. Were they joining them as well? Mira had not paid attention. But for some reason, they seemed a lot more trustworthy to her than Serket, even though both wore a hood that hid their faces. Miraphy was not one to mingle, but if she would have to choose between a potential danger and someone she considered neutral, then the choice was obvious. The three mares and the Knabstrupper mare were a different kind of their own, and Cornelia seemed to be a friend of Serket, which left the other hooded horse as the only neutral party in this round. At least in Miraphy's eyes. "Ohm, hello." She awkwardly greeted the stranger in a voice that was a little high and squeaky due to her nervousness. "Has some food be stolen from you aswell?" She asked, since this seemed to be the best start for a conversation. If nothing had been stolen from him, she could just ask why he tagged along and if something had been stolen, they could just discuss their individual losses. Hopefully this would not get awkward, like most conversations she held.

Jeweline | Warrior
When the Unseelie mare spoke, Jeweline just did her best to wear a passive expression. "Riiight." She then said in more length than necessary and somewhat passively fastened her sword belt with some magic. She had a steel and a silver sword at her disposal as well as the skill to form a few more of the sharp bladed weapons with ice. If this mare would try anything, she'd end up having a very bad day. Jeweline threw Dawn a glance, knowing all too well that also she wouldn't let the half demon get away with anything. She nodded a suble thanks to Elicia for the status update and then threw a glance further away at the mare with the wind chimes. As Elicia already pointed out, it was quite difficult to determine the mare's magic kind. And when a scout couldn't determine it, then Jeweline, as a Warrior, had no chance to. Her best guess for the moment was that this mare walked on the line between light and darkness. It was very rare, but it existed and it really made for an unpleasant one to deal with. Hopefully the paint mare was right and she was no one to worry about.
As the palomino thought about it, another equine approached. Again a hooded one. What is it with all the hidden faces? Is this some sort of new fashion I am unaware of or do we really have that my suspicious fellows among us!? Jeweline thought and nodded at the speaker's request to join them. As far as she could tell, it was a stallion. The only male so far. She just hoped that he wouldn't try to take the lead in this. Past situations had taught her that men were unbearable when placed in a group of women. For the moment she could just hope this stallion to be an exception. She had not much time to mull further about it, because the mare with the chimes approached with a quite obvious clinging and clanking of the chimes. She spoke in a voice that reminded Jeweline of some very creepy-minded Healers of her herd or even some maniacs who had never gotten over the instincts the curse gave one and were therefore driven to mental insanity.
"I want to join, I live in this forest and well, I have friends on the other side, I´m sure, you know what I mean." This was unexpected. More than just unexpected. Jeweline was not nearly as read as the common Scout, but she remembered Jason and Perez to have talked about the possebility of communicating with the dead. It was an art that was neither rooted in darkness, nor light and therefore only very few were gifted enough to possess it. This certain mare seemed to be one of them. Even though she had already suspected the mare to be quite unique with her magic, she has not expected her guess to really be correct, so her surprise was geniuine. "Well, that is...uncommon." Jeweline said and couldn't help but stumble a little over her words. "We'd really appreciate your help, as long as your friends do not...well...do something disturbing, or whatever the dead do." She knew that in this scenario it would have been smarter to let Elicia talk. Scouts were the perfect actors and could handle such situation with a finesse Jeweline could only dream of possessing. Still, the creepy mare had talked to her, so it was just right if also she would reply her. Hopefully her discomfort wouldn't influence the whole group. Communicating with ghosts was, after all, an almost extinct art. No one could really be sure of what ghosts could or couldn't do under the influence of someone of the mortal realm who could communicate with them.
Jeweline then looked around the very small crowd in front of her and then beyond them. It did not seem like anyone else would step up to join them. "Dawn, you're in charge in this. So whenever you want to move out, I'll leave the order of it to you. I say we leave now before another hooded person shows up. They seriously give me the creeps. Makes this whole thing look like a cult or something." Jeweline mentally said to Dawn, since she did not dare to take charge again and risk getting on the fire mage's bad side.
