Dawn | Warrior
Dawn was okay with Serket's actions until she started giggling like she was mad, when the ring of purple flames appeared it was too much for her. Her ears lay flat against her skull and she let out an angry growl as she watched Serket. When the screaming started the noise was nearly overpowering taking Dawn's growl and turning it into a groan of pain from the noise. After a few moments the noise seemed to subside though it still existed and she knew Ellie was using her magic on the sound, she sent Ellie a message so the other's wouldn't hear, "Thanks Ellie, I'm not sure how much more of that I could take before I tore into someone."
Dawn watched for once in her life almost helpless in the situation, she could do nothing against the fire or the spell Serket had used. She watched as the little brown filly, Cornelia was it, walked and stood in front of the mare, knowing the mare wouldn't hurt her if she could help it. Shortly afterwards she heard Ellie calling out to the mare, "Serket please let us out, so we can help you save your friends.". Dawn hoped to the gods the two of them would get through to her before she decided to do something stupid and take action herself.

Illucid
[ stallion | independent | criminal ]
- - - - - - - - - - - - - Content with the pace, Illucid stuck by Miraphy's side, though unlike her, he looked excited at the prospect of something dangerous. She seemed worried about heading this direction- a cave, she had said, and haunted no less. The buckskin had little to no experience with ghosts, but the idea thrilled him. He didn't have too long to think about it, for Calypso and the others had started bickering. A gust of wind that way, water this way. Illucid's step faltered. He had absolutely no interest in getting into the middle of this, as it looked like they were using their magic, and Illucid could not hold his own against them. Instead, he watched curiously, wondering briefly how awesome it must be to be able to use magic like that. That didn't make this fight acceptable in any way, however. Jeweline got involved then, bashing ice over Calypso's head, and that appeared to be the last straw for that Serket mare. Illucid's eyes grew wide, watching the mare stop the others and scold them. Oh. He made a mental note to leave her alone, though he was once against surprised when she apologized. Illucid had never been able to use magic, and he couldn't understand the amount of power it entailed. He couldn't quite grasp how dangerous Serket's, and everyone else's, powers were because he had never experienced anything like it. It frightened him, in an extremely exciting way. It made his blood rush, something he tried to achieve daily.
It seemed as though things had settled down then, and the buckskin walked. And walked. Illucid didn't mind traveling, but he had no idea how far it was or how much longer they had to go. He was dull to the senses like the others. He couldn't really feel what they felt about the cave. To him, it was an opportunity for an adrenaline rush, and he found himself once again unable to understand them. He felt alienated in that way, being a mortal amongst everyone. After some time, the group had finally stopped. Illucid took note of Miraphy's body language. She really didn't like this cave, though he had to agree that the trailing chicken bones didn't help much. His attention turned to Ellie as she gave her initial feelings about it. No dark or sinister magic sounded good, right? What were they waiting for then? Illucid itched to run head first inside, and the fact that that would be the dumbest thing to do made him want to do it even more. He stayed still, though, attention turning to Serket as she spoke up. Strangely, she moved over towards Calypso and began speaking to her. Why would she talk to her after all that trouble they had earlier? It was short lived as Serket's wailing reached his ears. He tried to make out what she was saying. Who dies? Who is dying? What? We will all die? Was she talking about them? Oh, the ghost. Ghost? Illucid wasn't sure what the hell was going on. He just wanted her to stop yelling. Luckily, she did stop, but it wasn't over. He found himself surrounded by purple flame, covered by a dome. This was some strange magic. Cool, but frightening at the same time.
Looking out from the dome at the cave, Illucid saw what Serket saw. Now he could understand what plagued her, what burden this magic must have been for her. It actually scared him, and that didn't happen often. His ears twitched as Ellie spoke up, asking her to stop. The buckskin wasn't sure if it would help. Would the magic stop if Serket was unable to focus on it? Illucid thought briefly about running at her, trying to knock her off her feet. He also didn't want to anger her further, fearful of this magic she used. So he stayed put, ears flat against his rough mane, trying to ignore the sounds of the ghosts, hoping that someone would get through to her sooner than later.

Miraphy | Witch
When Serket suddenly started giggling like a crazy person, Miraphy backed away from her a little. Judging by how Serket had behaved before, screaming that someone - apparently she meant her ghosts or the ghosts in the cave in general - was dying in a wild panic, this was probably not a good sign. Miraphy's hunch was confirmed when suddenly some sort of dome formed over them, encircled by a ring of purple flames. Instantly, a horrid choir of screaming and screeching broke upon them, forcing Miraphy, with her good ears, to the ground to try to cover them from the noise. Her head was already starting to ache from it. She just hoped that Serket would make it stop and didn't even look to see the apparent ghosts. Suddenly the screams were getting a little more bearable, though still too loud for the young paint mare. She had her ears lying flat against her head and tried to pull the hood of her cloak as tight as possible, by pinning it to the ground with her hooves. And then, the noise just stopped. Miraphy raised her head again, partially afraid that her ears had been damaged, but in reality, the circle of purple fire, which Serket had drawn, was replaced by a brilliant, golden flame that ate away the purple ones. The paint mare stood up again to see who had created the golden flame. Her look immediately went to Dawn and Ellie, but neither of them seemed to have done it. Instead, all of the others looks were cast upward. Also, Miraphy looked up to see a creature she had never expected to lay her eyes on. On alabaster coloured wings and with piercing golden eyes, a dragon flew above them. The paint mare stared. She had always expected dragons to be much larger than that since this one, in particular, was no bigger than a housecat. It screeched at the group of horses and showed its sharp teeth in a hiss, but otherwise stayed where it was, hovering in the air. "Stay back, mortals. In these caves are dangers beyond thee. Those that are friends of mortals have nothing to fear, for also we Novein are friends of the mortals and passers of the realms. What is it you seek here?" Miraphy was more than a little surprised when the dragon - though it called itself a Novein - suddenly started to speak in her mind. By the way it spoke, the others could probably hear him in their heads as well. She looked at the others and hoped one of them would speak since she was not sure if it really was a good idea to speak to such a magically superior creature.

Jeweline | Warrior
When they finally arrived at the cave, it didn't take long for things to go south. Jeweline had expected some sort of reaction from the druid that could see ghosts since this was a haunted cave, but the reaction she got was much more extreme than the palomino mare had imagined. It involved screaming that someone was dying and then a ring of purple fire that created a dome to let them see and hear the ghosts Serket seemed to see all the time. Jeweline pretty much ruled the possibility of it being an illusion out. It was real and at latest now it got clear that ghosts seemingly really existed. Creepy. What was even worse than the definite proof of the existence of ghosts and their skull-splitting screams, was the dome itself. It was small. Too small for Jeweline. And to make it even worse, it was surrounded by fire, which made the beforementioned impassable dome even more impassable for the palomino mare. Two of her worst enemies combined: claustrophobia and fire. With the already tense mood, the mare was in and with the still very audible screams that surrounded them, it didn't take long for the Warrior mare to snap. "Sorry, Dawn." Jeweline said to her team leader in thoughts before she drew her silver sword and held it against Serket's throat. "Okay, druid girl, you're gonna dissolve this spell this instant or you'll join your ghost friends in that party they're having there." She had barely finished speaking when suddenly something white shot out of the cave and distracted Jeweline. She did not lower her sword at first, but when said thing turned out to be nothing less than a Novein, she did. It breathed fire on the purple flames, which made the voices stop immediately and also seemed to destroy the dome Serket had created. Jeweline sheathed her sword again since there was no reason to threaten Serket anymore. Instead, she looked up to the Novein in awe. It made sense that Melody was fascinated with dragons when even a cheap copy like a Novein, that was the size of a red fox, had an atmosphere of awe about it. "Stay back, mortals. In these caves are dangers beyond thee. Those that are friends of mortals have nothing to fear, for also we Novein are friends of the mortals and passers of the realms. What is it you seek here?" That the Novein spoke to them in thoughts was expected. Jeweline had babysat Melody after all and the young Scout mare basically knew everything there was to know about Noveins. As obsessed as she was, she had not held back on that knowledge int he slightest and so also Jeweline was well-versed with the creatures. At least as well-versed, as one could be with a creature there was practically no information available about. "We seek for a chicken thief and judging by the chicken bones this is you. Why not take a pheasant instead? There ought to be plenty in this forest." Jeweline knew that lecturing a Novein was probably not a good idea, but if worst came to worst, she still had her swords and she still could run. "Our folk only takes what is available en masse. Pheasants have become rare, so we leave them be. Chicken are common, so we don't upset nature's balance with hunting them." Jeweline didn't know if the Novein just talked to her in thoughts or also to the others. Regardless, his reasoning made sense. Before Jeweline could ask a question about the apparent killing of ghosts though, a cry of another Novein echoed out of the cave, which made the white Novein in front of them turn its head and reply with a small roar of his own. Then, without another explanation, he turned and flew back into the cave. "Well, mystery solved, I guess. I, for one, won't do anything against a Novein colony since a certain girl I used to babysit would have my head for it. Dawn, Ellie, I advise you to do the same, considering she might for your superior someday. You others can do as you please, even though there's little you can do here." The palomino said as her final conclusion and watched the others to see their reactions.

Cornelia | Poor
Cornelia had stood her ground. At first, nothing seemed to happen. Serket did nothing but laugh, and the purple fire was still dancing around them. Cornelia's face started to change from a blank expresion to a worried. She was worried of Serket. She wanted her friend back. "Please..." Cornelia said quiet. "Please just come back..." She did not get to say more, before she saw a sword againt the throat of Serket. The purple flames could be seen in the reflection of silver sword, and Cornelia followed with her eys from the tip of the sword, to see who was holding it. It was Jeweline. Of course it was, who else had sword with them? "Okay, druid girl, you're gonna dissolve this spell this instant or you'll join your ghost friends in that party they're having there." Now, she was scared. The fire was almost nothing compared to this. Cornelia did not have in mind to tolerate Jeweline threatening Serket. Once again, her expresion changed, but this time to anger. "What the hell?!" She hissed at her. Then realizing that everyone was looking at something else. The flammes where gone, and a novein had landed in front of them all. "Stay back, mortals. In these caves are dangers beyond thee. Those that are friends of mortals have nothing to fear, for also we Novein are friends of the mortals and passers of the realms. What is it you seek here?" The novein was beautiful, and its voice soft, and even though it was small, it still seemed so powerfull. Thank god I am mortal then, she thought. Jeweline got the chance to answer, and the novein explained why they was stealing the chickens, and she could not help but to understand them a little. Even though, she still rememberred all the poor families back in the city. "But the poor famillies, they-" Cornelia did not get to say much more, before the novein flew back in the cave, just as quick as it had appeared. "Well, mystery solved, I guess. I, for one, won't do anything against a Novein colony since a certain girl I used to babysit would have my head for it. Dawn, Ellie, I advise you to do the same, considering she might for your superior someday. You others can do as you please, even though there's little you can do here." Jeweline said. Cornelia was confused at first, i did not seem like she knew the rest of us was also hearing what she was saying to Dawn and Ellie. "-might for your superior someday"?! What is she talking about? Where are those people from? Does she want to appear more suspicious than she already is just now?! Cornelia did not care much. She still had not forgotten what Jeweline did against Serket. "Fine, you go. I am not leaving Vaarl in there, and I don't know about the rest of you, but I myself prefer not to have anyone around who are threatening us!" She said, directly looking at Jeweline. "Heck, you are not much better than Calypso!" she quickly turned her head to Calypso. "No offense" and then back to Jeweline. "The worst she have done is to make Ellie a little wet!"

Dawn | Warrior
Dawn was more than just unhappy with how Jeweline was acting, but her thoughts were cut short when the creature spoke. It didn't take long for the Novein to say what it wanted when a call from within sent it flying inside. She had listened to Jeweline speak "Well, mystery solved, I guess. I, for one, won't do anything against a Novein colony since a certain girl I used to babysit would have my head for it. Dawn, Ellie, I advise you to do the same, considering she might for your superior someday. You others can do as you please, even though there's little you can do here." Realizing what she had just said she hissed an answer telepathically to Jeweline and also let Ellie hear it, "Are you trying to blow our cover? Although I do agree that we shouldn't do anything against the Novein we should at least try and see if they need help, try and find an alternative to the chickens so the people of the city aren't effected so much. If you have a problem with that you can take it up with Kade when we get back." With that she gave an annoyed snort and stalked off closer towards the mouth of the cave staring inside. She stood quietly and listened to the creatures calling to each other in the darkness, there were more than just the two, from the different octaves of calls she could assume it was a mated pair and their young which would explain the need for the chickens and abundant amount of food they were needing.
Dawn was sure Ellie would be the first one to speak to her, she seemed to understand what Dawn meant the most. She wasn't sure she could handle talking with Jeweline at the moment without practically ripping her head off. Even as a team leader she shouldn't rip into her team mates, but they were practically dancing on the line of blowing their cover if they kept this up any longer. The fighting needed to stop, it didn't matter if they didn't like who they were working with, they still had to be respectful.

Calypso | Unseelie
Calypso was surprised as suddenly Serket came closer to her and started whispering. It was something about the cave, also she knew that the knabstrupper mare is from Jengu and it looked like she wanted her help. But before Calypso could answer her, the witch started to scream. It looked like she was becoming crazy because something was attacking and eating her ghosts. Did the half demon understand everything right? She didn't know if it was the right theory, but she could understand that losing someone important could drive you insane. Before she could do anything, purple flames started to float around her and the others. It was a spell, so everyone could see and hear what Serket had to deal with all the time. Now Calypso understands her even more. The pain she had to deal with. Her ears started to hurt from the loud voices and she really hoped Cornelia could stop her, but then suddenly Jeweline took action over the whole situation. The palomino held a sword against Serket's throat. Was also she turning crazy? It looked like everyone in the team started to fear another. There was no team spirit. It was somehow funny how fast things changed, before some minutes Calypso was the biggest enemy but now nobody cared about her anymore. The mare couldn't help herself but grin. It was really amusing how they turned against each other. Suddenly the voices started to get quieter until they didn't disappear at all. It was a Novein, that didn't want to do any harm and soon disappeared in the cave.
Now Calypso listened to the loud conversation of Jeweline and Cornelia. "It's okay." the half demon said with a shrug, as Cornelia compared her with the palomino mare. It wasn't like she would care about something like that, although she had to disagree. Jeweline and she had really nothing in common. At least Cornelia seems to understand that Calypso didn't get anyone in danger in the difference from Jeweline, that threaten a teammate with a sword. "Looks like we have a new trash in the team." Calypso said provocatively with a grin to the palomino mare, as she made a step closer to Serket and Cornelia. She was really surprised at how brave Cornelia behaved for a mortal. "Let them leave, Cornelia." she added while looking at the small mare. "It's not like they came to help. They just want to show off their power, pretending to be something better than me, but in the end, they are reckless killers." Calypso added confidently, waiting for their reactions. Unseelie or not, Calypso knew how painful it was to lose a close friend. Also as a perfectionist, she didn't like to have things half done, so she already decided to join Serket and Cornelia. If she started this, she would also bring it to an end. ______ 477 Words || Post 9

Jeweline | Warrior
Jeweline found Dawn's utter underestimation of her capabilities downright insulting. Did she take her for a fool?! True, the palomino mare was younger than Dawn, but blowing one's cover by mentioning the existence of a superior? Very unlikely. While Jeweline was no Scout, but a Warrior, she did not possess the knowledge of years of training, but that didn't mean that she didn't pick up a few tricks from her Scout friends and especially Jason over the years. She was in no way comparable to Jason's skill when it came to quickly inventing a believable excuse, but then again, he was a prodigy when it came to that. The palomino mare preferred the method her friend Perez used: The 5-story-rule. One should always have at least five different stories prepared and then use the one that best fit one's situation. To each of the stories were certain hints one had to drop before spilling it in detail, so the doubts the others might have towards one, connected nicely with the story, so it would be more believable. What also would make it more believable was that those stories were used over and over again, making them more detailed with every time one told them and with that more alive and believable. And to be honest: About anything was more believable than a hidden land no one had heard of before, where the feared Caspanas lived and were trained to kill fae and protect mortals. To get to that conclusion one really needed to be a little wrong in the head, or psychic. Though that usually went hand in hand. In any case, Jeweline had her five stories and she was not afraid to drop one of them when time seemed fit. That Dawn would even consider that she would blow their cover out of carelessness was more than just insulting. It even suggested that Dawn thought that Jeweline would risk a permanent banishment from the herd just to blow their cover. How ungifted of intelligence and wit did Dawn think she was!? "Do you take me to be stupid or something? I have my five stories ready in case they doubt us." Jeweline said to Dawn telepathically. However, Jeweline was no one that just exploded on others over something like that. Seriously, no one wanted to see her when she really exploded. It was ugly and involved a lot of blood most of the time. Nothing deadly, but a fair warning. She didn't think Dawn wanted that. Once again, the palomino envied the seemingly saint-like patience that Jason possessed in any kind of situation. He never let his anger get the better of him. If it did, then Jeweline had never seen it in the six years that she had known him.
It was Calypso's comment that got Jeweline out of her thoughts and she overdramatically rolled her eyes while trying to calm her nerves. In a tense and sarcastic voice, she continued. "Yes, because saying please please or simply staring at someone was gonna solve the issue. Don't act like holding a blade to one's throat is something uncommon." Jeweline said. The last part was true. At least in the circles, she had fared, it was a fairly common practice to get what one wanted. To conclude that she was weak just because she preferred a quick solution to a problem, was a grave misinterpretation. "If you want to call a mercenary a killer, then that's fine by me, but call me reckless again and you'll regret it." She added to Calypso's last comment. One could call her many things, but reckless was really not one of them. She took it as less an insult than Dawn's earlier remark since Calypso didn't know her at all, but it still stung her and made her want to prove the Knabstrupper mare otherwise. "And you." Jeweline turned to Cornelia and her stare was suddenly as cold as the ice she bent. "Learn the difference between an honest threat and a bluff. Do I really look like I'd kill someone just because they annoy me?" The palomino mare's cold stare softened into a sarcastic glance and she rolled her eyes again. "I kill directly lethal threats. Not potentially lethal threats. Or paid targets, I'm a mercenary after all. Serket is neither of those things I would kill." She felt the need to explain it in detail since there seemed to be some heavy misconceptions going around.

Ellie | Scout
Ellie was getting worried. More so than she already was. Jeweline’s stunt with sword had startled her. That was no way to deal with someone not in their right mind. As bad as the screeching had been for them Ellie had been able to muffle it to a reasonable level. Serket didn’t have that luxury. When the Novien appeared, Ellie was thrilled. There was very little known of them and since they could speak, she wanted nothing more than to find a talkative one. Jeweline’s cryptic warning distracted her, why was Jeweline talking like that. She could have just said their boss’s daughter would not be pleased if we harmed the Novien in anyway. That would have been more believable for their companions. Cornelia seemed angry and when she turned on Jeweline Ellie understood why. Serket obviously didn’t always behave like this, and she still trusted the druid she knew over the mages she didn’t. Dawn was beyond annoyed now. She had barely gotten over the last bit of foolishness when this happened. Ellie spoke to Dawn telepathically as she moved into the cave.
“Try to keep it together Dawn. Jeweline was just trying to get Serket to stop the only way she knew how, and she doesn’t want us to get in trouble with the leader’s daughter. She is trying to help.” If nothing else maybe that would help Dawn take a breath and calm down. Then Calypso opened her mouth and Ellie winced. She was about to piss somebody off again. When she called, them show-offs and reckless killers Ellie was offended. She and Dawn had not offered harm to anyone. But before Ellie could speak Jeweline spoke up. Great we are going to have a nice bloody fight. She seemed to be lecturing Cornelia and Calypso as to why she was right. This isn’t going to get us anywhere. Ellie took a deep breath she didn’t want Dawn to have to deal with this, she was already annoyed with Jeweline, and Calypso’s comments probably didn’t help any.
“Hey let’s all take a breath here.” She did her best to keep her voice steady and calm. She turned to Cornelia. “Please accept our apologies. Jeweline only wished to startle Serket enough that she couldn’t keep the dome up. Poor Miraphy’s ears are more sensitive than ours and she couldn’t take much more. Yes, there were better ways but it was all Jeweline could think of.” She dipped her head to Serket “I wish we had handled that better.”
Then she looked at Calypso. This mare had been a pain since they started this whole mess, Ellie was not about to start a fight, but she was done with the crap. “It is a pity you cannot see what is in front of your nose. My friends and I have done most of the work on tracking the Novien this far, most intelligent people would call that helping. If you think we have been showing off, you are sorely mistaken. We have tried to keep our capabilities to a minimum so as not to make the rest uncomfortable or scared. If you would like to see us show off, just ask. We would be more than happy to “show off” for you.” She shook her mane, all this talking was getting her worked up. “And lastly if we were as blood thirsty as you’d like everyone to believe, no one would have made it his far. At the very least we would have killed the potential threats, you and Serket. We could tell Serket was powerful, but she surprised us with how powerful she truly is.” She paused, Calypso had been hinting that they were more than they appeared. But she couldn’t know what they were. Ellie knew what Calypso was though, and it was about time the mortals on this trip knew what they were dealing with. “You are a half demon, unseelie who is only interested in serving yourself. You have underwhelmed us with your snarky remarks and your insistence on being a royal pain in the ass. If you want to help, by all means stay and help. I’ve had enough of all the insanity that keeps happening. I’m going to see if any of the Novien are willing to talk, and see if there is any way to convince them to leave the village livestock alone.” Ellie marched to the cave not even pausing to see reactions from anyone. Like she said, she was done. She walked past Dawn into the caves. From the sounds she heard there were several colonies in here. The exact number was hard to determine because of all the echoing. She moved further into the dark not waiting for anyone.

Illucid
[ stallion | independent | criminal ]
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
Shooting a glance at Miraphy to see if she was okay, Illucid realized that the mare had hit the ground. This screeching must have really hurt her, and he found himself wishing he could help her. Though it didn't take much longer for the purple fire and the dome to disappear, causing Illucid's gaze to wander. Upon looking upwards, he caught sight of the dragon. Well, that was a bit of a disappointment. He'd always imagined those creatures to be a bit.. bigger. The Novein was almost cute in comparison. A strange sensation washed over him, and the young stallion heard the Novein's voice in his head. Jeweline tried talking with it, but the creature didn't seem all too interested in negotiating and was suddenly gone once again, following the cries from inside the cave. Illucid opened his mouth to say something, but shut it immediately when Jeweline spoke back up, this time telling them that there was no use going after it. That's it? They had come all this way to give up and turn back? It appeared he wasn't the only one who felt this way, as Cornelia had spoken up. Unfortunately, this seemed to spark another disagreement, to put it mildly.
To say that Illucid was overwhelmed was an understatement. His poor mortal self couldn't take it anymore. He had no clue what these mares were picking at each other for- he had no way of knowing what they were or if perhaps they had some sort of bad blood between them. It seemed to him as simply a power struggle. And he was sick of it. It was hard enough for him to travel with a group of mares, whose genders would have usually frightened him, but at this point, their words fell on deaf ears. All Illucid could do was roll his eyes once Jeweline, Calypso and even that little Cornelia got into it. Of course Ellie put in two cents as well. Hell, they were all here for the same reasons, weren't they? How did it turn into this? Illucid gave an annoyed snort. Perhaps this was the real reason he preferred a stallion's company. Too much petty argument. While they were all busy trying to prove something to each other, Illucid had crawled closer towards the mouth of the cave. He didn't care what they said about how dangerous it was, and judging by the small size of the Novein, how much of a threat could they really be? He wanted a piece of this thrill. Suddenly Ellie had gone past him and into the cave, and Illucid was right on her heels without a second thought.
Shaking off his hood for a better range of view, Illucid's blue eyes squinted as they adjusted to the darkness. He could hear the Novein, but he had a hard time spotting any. Maybe they just weren't far enough into the cave yet. Coming up at Ellie's side, Illucid shot her a sideways glance. "What's your plan?" asked the stallion curiously. Illu rarely had 'plans'. He rathered the jump-right-in method, but he doubted Ellie or anyone else who had decided to join them, would approve. Besides, he knew absolutely nothing about the Novein. The buckskin was simply tired of being a loose wheel- he wanted to help them. That's why he had come, after all.

Dawn | Warrior
When Ellie spoke to her she took a deep breath and focused on something other than the situation at hand for a few moments. Ellie was right after all despite the fact that she wasn't happy with how Jeweline had taken things. Dawn had been listening to what was being said and was about to deal with the comments herself when to her utter surprise Ellie stepped in. She listened in shock as she spoke, “It is a pity you cannot see what is in front of your nose. We would be more than happy to “show off” for you.”
If that hadn't been enough she was in complete disbelief as she turned on Calypso, “You are a half demon, unseelie who is only interested in serving yourself. You have underwhelmed us with your snarky remarks and your insistence on being a royal pain in the ass. If you want to help, by all means stay and help. I’ve had enough of all the insanity that keeps happening. I’m going to see if any of the Novien are willing to talk, and see if there is any way to convince them to leave the village livestock alone.”
When Ellie stalked past her and into the cave Dawn shook herself back to reality and followed her inside, conjuring up a flame so they had some light to see by. When she finally decided to speak she decided a mental message would be best, "Remind me to never piss you off. I didn't think you could snap like that at anyone."
Dawn walked with her through the cavern until they could see the Novein once again, the little creatures still so amazing and unnatural to her. "They're adorable aren't they." She looked at Ellie with a smile on her face for the first time since the trip began.

Serket|Witch
When Cornelia stared at Serket, the mare didn´t noticed it. She was already staring at the cave. But, when Ellie talked to her, she turned her head, she murmured something, but nobody was able to hear that. But when, Jeweline raised her sword against her. "Okay, druid girl, you're gonna dissolve this spell this instant or you'll join your ghost friends in that party they're having there." she said to her. Serket looked at her with cold eyes and whispered: "Oh, I don´t fear you and your sword, I also don´t fear the death. it´s so funny, you think this would bother me." She wanted to continue but she noticed something was attacking her dome. The dome collapsed and for everyone except for Serket the voices stopped. A few seconds later, she noticed the novein. She was fascinated and was in rage at the same time. When it spoked to them, she was even more in rage
"Stay back, mortals. In these caves are dangers beyond thee. Those that are friends of mortals have nothing to fear, for also we Novein are friends of the mortals and passers of the realms. What is it you seek here?"
.. How dare you! .. she thought and stared at the Novein. minutes later, they could here another novein in the cave and the one, who spoked to them, flew back in the cave.
"Well, mystery solved, I guess. I, for one, won't do anything against a Novein colony since a certain girl I used to babysit would have my head for it. Dawn, Ellie, I advise you to do the same, considering she might for your superior someday. You others can do as you please, even though there's little you can do here., she heared Jeweline saying that and Serket turned back to her, but this time Cornelia was quicker. "Fine, you go. I am not leaving Vaarl in there, and I don't know about the rest of you, but I myself prefer not to have anyone around who are threatening us!", Conny said directly towards Jeweline and Serket looked surprised to her friend. "Heck, you are not much better than Calypso! The worst she have done is to make Ellie a little wet!" the small brown mare continued. Serket was even more surprised about Calypso´s reaction. "Looks like we have a new trash in the team. Let them leave, Cornelia. It's not like they came to help. They just want to show off their power, pretending to be something better than me, but in the end, they are reckless killers." "Yes, because saying please please or simply staring at someone was gonna solve the issue. Don't act like holding a blade to one's throat is something uncommon. If you want to call a mercenary a killer, then that's fine by me, but call me reckless again and you'll regret it.", Jews replied. "And you." , she saw Jeweline spoked now to Cornelia, "Learn the difference between an honest threat and a bluff. Do I really look like I'd kill someone just because they annoy me? I kill directly lethal threats. Not potentially lethal threats. Or paid targets, I'm a mercenary after all. Serket is neither of those things I would kill." ... oh you want to be a mercenary? I don´t think so! But If you turn against Cornelia I´ll wish you like, I may not win, but I would kick your ass, blondie! .. she thought that and made a step closer to Jeweline. She wanted to talk to her, but Ellie was again quicker than her. “Hey let’s all take a breath here.”, Ellie turned to Cornelia and said to her: “Please accept our apologies. Jeweline only wished to startle Serket enough that she couldn’t keep the dome up. Poor Mirapy’s ears are more sensitive than ours and she couldn’t take much more. Yes, there were better ways but it was all Jeweline could think of.” ... oh you think, a metal toothpic would distracted me ? ... Serket snored. She heared Ellie was talking to Calypso, but she didn´t even listen to her, but when the paint mare walked into the cave she said quietly: "If she is just half as intelligent as she seemed to be, she wouldn´t walk into the cave without knowing ghost and the novein." She also saw Illucid and Dawn following her. "Seems like, we need to safe the all mighty mercenaries now. The ghost allready following them.", she said sarcastic. She turned back to Jeweline :" You seem to have a great team here, the two just run into a unknown cave with nearly unknown creatures and you are triggered by every word we are saying. I may have a deal for you, blondie. You help us, I mean Cornelia, Calypso and myself, with the novein and we help you to rescue your teammates. Sounds good right? " , she said smirking. She looked to Calypso and Cornelia "Thank you, your both are great." Next she turned to Mirapy. Looking worried to her :" Sorry, are your ears okay again ? Would you also help us ?"

Miraphy | Witch
When Miraphy got her hooves again and watched the Novein fly back into the cave, the bickering started to erupt again and she flattened her ears, not wanting to have anything to do with it and not being brave enough to contribute anything either. Not that she would have much to complain about. They were still alive, that's what counted. When Calypso made one of her remarks again and Jeweline, again, jumped on it, Ellie also, again, replied. While the other paint mare was less up front than Jeweline, she still seemed to be as eager as the palomino to get into fights and proof herself. The shy mare didn't quite understand this ambition. Why not just keep oneself out of it and let the strange Knabstrupper mare talk to the air? Maybe she then would get bored eventually. With jumping to everything she said, they just gave her what she wanted: amusement. It was then, that Miraphy looked in shock when Ellie started to head towards the cave. The young paint mare trotted a few steps after her and whispered her name in a warning matter, but Ellie seemed to be too stubborn to notice anyone around her. Hesitantly, Miraphy halted and watched the mare as she eventually entered the cave and disappeared into it. Was she out of her mind? They had been warned about this place from her, from Serket and even from the godly Novein! How could she just ignore all that? The red maned mare flattened her ears and stayed nervously where she was, thinking what she could do to get the mare back out before it was too late. Before she could think of anything though, two other horses rushed past her, Illucid and Dawn, who followed Ellie's example. "No. Don't. It's dangerous!" Miraphy tried, but her voice was either too quiet, or er ears were still a little ringy from the spell earlier. She shook her head. Yes, her hearing was off, as if there was cotton in her ears. Things were a little muffled. Had she even said anything at all? She wasn't sure. Regardless, the three horses were gone and in the cave now. She was definitely not brave enough to go in there. Desperately she looked to Jeweline, hoping the mercenary would know how to best get them out of there unharmed. Though already shortly after they entered the cave, Miraphy heard screams. Horrifying screams that sounded more animal than sentient, mixed with the screams of Novein. When Serket started to talk, the paint mare turned towards her. The witch wanted the palomino mare to help as well. Naturally. Miraphy was not sure if she was glad or should feel left out when Serket counted off everyone but her when she named "her team". But this nagging feeling was soon forgotten when the mare turned towards her to reassure how her ears were. "Uhm, my ears are okay. I just need a moment. Everything is a little fuzzy right now. And yes, I'll help. I can't do much but...I'll try." She said and looked to the ground timidly.

Jeweline | Warrior
What. The. Hell. It was at this moment, that Jeweline realised that her teammates had both miraculously lost their brains. Oh, there's a dangerous cave we have been warned of by several different and trustworthy sources, let's just march in there with no plan whatsoever! WHY. Just why would anyone be so utterly witless!? The palomino mare was so speechless that she let her jaw hang open while she looked at the cave in utter disbelief. "Has a Kelpie eaten their brains or something? They did not really just walk in probably the most dangerous cave in Mereldia without any plan, did they?" The mare asked, to make sure that she had not hallucinated it. They were trained. TRAINED! A trained Warrior and especially a trained Scout. They should know better than this. But apparently, they didn't know better. Enter the breeding grounds of Novein that are at the same time a centre point for extremely aggressive ghosts that possessed one? That definitely went against any training and in that sense also rationality whatsoever! Illucid, she could understand. He was young and naive and as it seemed lacked the brains to listen to warnings. But the other two? They should really know better. She turned to Serket as the witch started speaking. "Getting them out of there seems like a good idea, but not a plan. If we rush in there without a proper plan, we won't end up much better, so what's on your mind, witch? You're the ghost expert and I kinda know something about Novein. Whatever is known about them anyway. I cannot promise I'll be able to handle them, but I have a mountain ash lop on me, so that might help. It helps against a lot of supernatural creatures anyway." The mare said matter of factly. The situation was too serious to discuss widely above the former that was said,s o she concentrated on the organisational stuff that was the latter. "But I won't kill unless it's absolutely necessary." She added since she didn't want to draw a wrong picture of herself. Again.

Those who walked into the cave: You have barely entered the cave and the Novein attack you. You have trespassed on their breeding grounds and on top of that the ghosts possess you since you entered their domain. Going in there, ignorant to all the warnings, turned out to be a VERY bad idea. The Novein bite deep into your skin, through the cloth of your cloaks, and leave wounds through which they try to purify the ghosts that entered your body. The wounds start to bleed black and shimmer in red and violet hues, and they hurt like knives are stabbing you and burning like hot iron. The wounds get worse, tearing at the sides and even more of the disgusting black liquid escapes. You fall to the ground and rife in agony, while the ghosts keep trying to take control of your body.

Cornelia | Poor
*The tekst below contains swearing* When Cornelia was done speaking up - to Cornelia's surprize - Calypso came to join her. Cornelia was not super glad for that. Calypso had been provocative and... creepy the whole trip. Then again, she would definitely rather have her as a ally than a enemy. Also, she had not really have the chance to get to know her, so she did not want to judge. But Calypso speaking up, only seemed like one more excuse for Jeweline to fight back. "And you." Jeweline said, just when she was done with Calypso. Shit. Cornelia thought. "Learn the difference between an honest threat and a bluff. Do I really look like I'd kill someone just because they annoy me?" No, but how the fuck am I supposed to know that?! Isn't that the whole point of a bluff, is to make people belive it?! She thought. She did not say it though. Cornelia never had a need to win a fight. Insteed, she just looked back at Jeweline, listening. Then Ellie stepped forward. “Hey let’s all take a breath here. Please accept our apologies. Jeweline only wished to startle Serket enough that she couldn’t keep the dome up.-" Cornelia liked Ellie. She was so sweet. Weird, maybe naive, but sweet. Cornelia could still feel the feeling that had ran through her when she saw the knife against the throat. It was nothing new. She had to be used to that in the city, especially in the poor part of it. The only difference here was, that the throat belonged to someone she was close to. Cornelia answerd Ellie: "Sure... whatever." Cornelia knew that the apology really was not from Jeweline herself, but Cornelia wanted the peaceful solution. Was that not what she tried to ptove before in the dome?
What the talk was done, Cornelia shortly leaned against Serket. "I'm glad you're back".
"No. Don't. It's dangerous!" Miraphy said. Maybe "said" is not hte right word, it was more of a whimp or mumbleing. Cornelia was first not sure what it was for, but then turned her face to see who she was warning. Ellie, Dawn and Illucid had been walking into the cave. Why? Cornelia had no idea, but now it was too late to worry about it. Jeweline immediately turned her head to Serket, and she explain the "plan", or at least the begining of one. Cornelia wanted to help. But how? Could she even do anyhting? Again, she felt as the kid around the adults. Probaly because she were, but still! What could she do? The only way she could think of was to use magic, and Cornelia was not really good at that. She could make the earth move a little, and even better if they had metal, she could bend it a little. She did have her little bag of metal pieces with her, could that help? She knew fae was hurt by metal, but was Novein fae? No, this was stupid, they had a trained warrior with them, she-. And like that, the questions keep flying around in her head. She was not going anywhere with this. "I want to help" she said. "Tell me what to do".

Dawn | Warrior
Dawn had followed Ellie into the cave with the intent of keeping her safe and bringing her back outside. She had smiled at Ellie, seeing the novein but the feeling she had was short lived. She was so focused on getting Ellie that she had forgotten about the ghosts. At first it was the novein attacking, tearing into her flesh and after that it didn't take long for her to fall to the ground. She knew the reason for the attacking in the back of her mind, they were trying to help the ghosts. It was all strange to her, the wounds bleeding black. She felt as if someone was repeatedly stabbing her with a knife and they burned far worse than fire. The pain she was feeling was practically driving her insane, it had her growling and gritting her teeth. She hoped that Jeweline and the others would figure something out soon, she wasn't sure how much of this she would be able to take. More so she was worried about Ellie and Illucid.
She tried to think, mostly about how stupid she had been as team leader just to jump into the situation like she had and go into the cave. It wouldn't have surprised her if Jeweline put her two cents in about her actions once this was all over. She was only able to think for a short amount of time before the pain took over her mind, practically the only thing she could feel. All she could do was helplessly lay their and watch as the wounds got worse and the black liquid that bled from them shimmered in hues of purple and red. If she had to pick a time she made a stupid decision she regretted, this would be it.

Ellie | Scout Ellie had been the furthest in and the first one hit. She had been about to answer Illucid when it happened, her body seemed to slow, and the noviens attacked. The pain was intense she could barely breathe. The noveins had seemed friendly enough, they had even said friends of mortals had nothing to fear, and Serket said the ghosts were dying. Why was this happening. The screams she heard, were they her friends or just her own? Why? Her brain raced trying to beat the pain. That’s when she felt the chattering inside her mind. The ghosts! The ones not gone must be trying to hide inside us, and the noveins can tell. Ellie turned her struggle inward, trying to force out the ghosts. "I barely have room for Jynx in here, let alone you lot." Jynx, that was it! Ellie took as deep a breath as she could and tried to relax.
Jynx took over in seconds, and she was not happy. Jynx's shrieks where shriller than Ellie's had been. She managed to force out one ghost which allowed her body to move easier. She was still being attacked and the blood flowed, but she could move, just barely. She began shoving her body sideways toward the cave opening. Jynx experienced the full brunt of the pain, while Ellie managed to make her legs move. Ellie could still feel the pain, it was just a bit less intense. She could think, but the trade off was she no longer fully controlled her body. She couldn't think about that now. She drew her legs in then shoved out convulsively. It was a painful and slow process. If those outside didn't think of something soon, they were done for. Her back hit something warm and wet. It had to be someone who followed her. She tried to shove harder, it was her fault they were in here, but it was little use. Between the pain and blood loss she was getting weaker. Was this it? Was this how she would die? She would never see her family again, never have a family of her own. These thoughts made Jynx angry. No they were not going to die like this! Ellie's fear coupled with the pain triggered a slight adrenaline rush. It dulled the pain, but Ellie knew it wouldn't last. She managed to get her and whoever was at her back a few feet before it wore off. She slumped to the ground as her consciousness left her.
(*Note: Ellie has incomplete multiple personality disorder. In a case of complete MPD one personality has control at a time. In Ellie's case if she is weakened or exhausted Jynx can take over, either partially or fully depending on how weak Ellie is. Ellie let Jynx take over, and because the pain weakened her Ellie was able to take partial control. It obviously didn't work as well as she'd hoped.)
